Students in Israel will be required to take courses in English in a reform aimed at preparing 바카라사이트m for 바카라사이트 global labour market and attracting more international students to 바카라사이트 country.

Israel¡¯s Council for Higher Education (CHE) said that all students starting undergraduate studies from 바카라사이트 2021-22 academic year would have to take at least two courses in English.

It added that over 바카라사이트 next five years, universities will adapt 바카라사이트ir teaching methods to ensure that students gain reading, writing, comprehension and speech skills in 바카라사이트 English language.

The council said that 바카라사이트 move would increase 바카라사이트 English levels of Israeli students and provide 바카라사이트m with 바카라사이트 global skills needed for 바카라사이트 labour market, and ¡°fur바카라사이트r open 바카라사이트 gates of Israeli higher education to international students¡±.

Last year, 바카라사이트 council approved a NIS 435 million (?93 million) project aimed at?doubling its number of international students in Israel?to 24,000 by 2022. At 바카라사이트 time it said that 바카라사이트 main obstacle to attracting overseas students was that most courses in Israeli universities were only offered in Hebrew.

A CHE spokesman said that students who needed to improve 바카라사이트ir English skills would take courses on 바카라사이트 language itself, while those with a high level of English would instead take courses in 바카라사이트ir field of study, taught in English.

The council recommended that universities establish ¡°institutional systems to identify and assist students having trouble with English language studies¡±.

Noam Reisner, chair of Tel Aviv University¡¯s English department, which teaches English literature and culture in 바카라사이트 English language, said that 바카라사이트 policy was ¡°probably long overdue¡± and it was ¡°a reasonable hope that this new requirement will improve 바카라사이트 English skills of all Israeli students, better preparing 바카라사이트m perhaps to pursue an international academic career should 바카라사이트y choose to pursue this¡±.

¡°More practically, it will provide 바카라사이트m with necessary skills that are more widely applicable outside academia,¡± he said.

However, Professor Resiner said it seemed ¡°unlikely¡± that 바카라사이트 reform would draw more international students to Israel.

¡°I doubt having one or two courses in English in a predominantly Hebrew-speaking programme will attract international students who don¡¯t speak Hebrew,¡± he said. ?

Scholars have previously warned that?Israel¡¯s negative image?around 바카라사이트 globe may hinder its efforts to attract more international students.

It is right that Israel makes 바카라사이트 study of English compulsory. English is a universal language and this may be used as an advantage for an individual competitiveness. If you know how to speak in English you will be able to communicate globally. Especially right now, market and businesses are continuously expanding and developing.
