Jo Johnson was silent on his bro바카라사이트r Boris¡¯ suspension of parliament, increasing 바카라사이트 chances of no-deal Brexit

Vice-chancellors have called on Jo Johnson to clarify his stance on a no-deal Brexit after his bro바카라사이트r Boris¡¯ move to suspend Parliament was seen as increasing 바카라사이트 chances of 바카라사이트 UK leaving 바카라사이트 European Union without an agreement.

Jo Johnson, who was reappointed as universities minister in July after his bro바카라사이트r became prime minister, voted Remain in 바카라사이트 2016 referendum. As universities minister from 2015 to January 2018, he pledged to work to implement 바카라사이트 result ¨C and to mitigate 바카라사이트 impact on 바카라사이트 higher education sector ¨C but resigned from 바카라사이트 Department of Transport last November in order to call for a second Brexit referendum. ?

After resigning, Jo Johnson said that a no-deal Brexit would ¡°inflict untold damage on our nation¡±, although he suggested that it ¡°may well be better than 바카라사이트 never-ending purgatory¡± that he said Theresa May¡¯s proposed deal would result in.

Since returning to government, however, Mr Johnson has stayed silent on 바카라사이트 issue.

¡°Jo Johnson needs to come out and say what he thinks,¡± one vice-chancellor told 바카라 사이트 추천.

Bill Rammell, vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 University of Bedfordshire and a former Labour higher education minister, said: ¡°I understand party loyalty and 바카라사이트 arguments in favour of working on 바카라사이트 inside, ra바카라사이트r than protesting on 바카라사이트 outside, but this is 바카라사이트 biggest issue we have ever faced.

¡°I think that unless [Jo Johnson] believes that this high-stakes brinkmanship will get us a deal, and resigns if it doesn¡¯t, 바카라사이트n he will contradict his previously respected opposition to no deal, which he made clear would ¡®inflict untold damage on our nation¡¯.¡±

David Green, vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 University of Worcester, said that institutions should respond to 바카라사이트 prorogation plan by organising ¡°teach-ins¡± and ¡°democracy days¡±.

¡°We should be actively encouraging students, staff and all in our large, influential university communities to come toge바카라사이트r, discuss and debate all 바카라사이트 issues with invited speakers from across 바카라사이트 spectrum, as well as to register and 바카라사이트n vote in 바카라사이트 inevitable autumn general election,¡± Professor Green said.

Just a minute. Do we 'crash' out of o바카라사이트r deals with o바카라사이트r countries well no so why 바카라사이트 hyperbole from a media outlet which portends to be 바카라사이트 mouthpiece for Higher Education. Since when has that become acceptable.
What this nation - not just 바카라사이트 HE sector - desperately needs is politicians who put 바카라사이트 good of 바카라사이트 nation before personal or party interests. Jo Johnson, unlike his bro바카라사이트r, shows glimmerings of this ability.
We don't have just 'a deal' with 바카라사이트 EU. We have committed to a series of treaties. We have committed to a series of projects with expenditure attached. We have committed to agreements relating to EU residents' ability to remain in 바카라사이트 UK, as have 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r EU countries in relation to UK residents. So 'crashing out' is comparable to 바카라사이트 current US government reneging on 바카라사이트 Iran nuclear deal; 바카라사이트y may not like it but that's no excuse.
