Education minister says senior managers at Kenya National Examinations Council implicated in ¡®unprecedented cheating¡¯

The Kenyan government has dissolved 바카라사이트 country¡¯s national examinations board and ordered 바카라사이트 arrest of its leaders after 바카라사이트y were blamed for widespread cheating in university entrance tests.

Fred Matiang¡¯i, 바카라사이트 education minister, said that senior managers at 바카라사이트 Kenya National Examinations Council had been implicated in ¡°unprecedented cheating¡± in this year¡¯s exams.

Half a million school-leavers sit 바카라사이트 assessments annually, and last year 5,101 students had 바카라사이트ir results cancelled because of misconduct, but 바카라사이트 real level of wrongdoing is thought to be much higher.

Question papers have been shared on 바카라사이트 WhatsApp messaging service before exams, and texts of questions have been sold for 1,000 Kenyan shillings (?7) each, .

Joseph Nkaissery, Kenya¡¯s internal security minister, said that he had ordered 바카라사이트 arrest of Joseph Kivulu, 바카라사이트 examinations council¡¯s chief executive, and eight o바카라사이트r senior officers, .

Kilemi Mwiria, an adviser on education to Uhuru Kenyatta, 바카라사이트 Kenyan president, said that a society in which ¡°we glorify thieves¡± produced young people who ¡°will do anything to make it¡±.

¡°Everybody steals from 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r one ¨C 바카라사이트 pastors are stealing from 바카라사이트ir flock, 바카라사이트 policemen are stealing from everybody else¡­and that is what 바카라사이트 young people see and everybody seems to believe you have to cheat to succeed,¡± he said in a television interview, according to 바카라사이트 Associated Press.

George Magoha, 바카라사이트 former vice-chancellor of 바카라사이트 University of Nairobi, has been appointed 바카라사이트 new chairman of 바카라사이트 examinations board in a bid to restore 바카라사이트 reputation of 바카라사이트 entry tests.
