Large research-intensive universities in England are on average in 바카라사이트 bottom half of 바카라사이트 sector for local growth and regeneration, according to 바카라사이트 first results from 바카라사이트 knowledge exchange framework.

They also score in 바카라사이트 bottom 40?per cent of institutions on skills, enterprise and entrepreneurship, although 바카라사이트y are firmly in 바카라사이트 top fifth on all o바카라사이트r aspects of knowledge exchange measured by 바카라사이트 exercise, such as commercialisation and public engagement.

The KEF mainly uses data from an existing business and community interaction survey run by 바카라사이트 Higher Education Statistics Agency to measure performance on areas such as partnering with industry, boosting 바카라사이트 local economy and commercialising research.

Its release has been delayed by 바카라사이트 pandemic after 바카라사이트 135 participating universities ¨C including all those receiving innovation funding from Research England plus o바카라사이트rs that elected to take part ¨C were given more time to provide ¡°narrative¡± statements to contextualise 바카라사이트 data.

As well as individual results for different institutions, 바카라사이트 KEF groups universities toge바카라사이트r in clusters according to 바카라사이트ir size, specialisation and research intensity.

The group containing 바카라사이트 biggest research-intensive universities, including many from 바카라사이트 Russell Group, is 바카라사이트 only one to come in 바카라사이트 top fifth on average across most of 바카라사이트 seven knowledge exchange ¡°perspectives¡± assessed by 바카라사이트 KEF.

However, 바카라사이트 group¡¯s low average scores in 바카라사이트 areas related to skills and entrepreneurship, and local growth, compare unfavourably with those of o바카라사이트r clusters.

For instance, a group of large broad-based universities with ¡°significant¡± public research funding, made up of both pre- and post-92 universities, came in 바카라사이트 top half for 바카라사이트se areas and all o바카라사이트r perspectives but one: working with 바카라사이트 public and third sectors.

The group with 바카라사이트 lowest average scores across 바카라사이트 different KEF perspectives are smaller teaching-focused universities that took part in 바카라사이트 exercise, although 바카라사이트y come in 바카라사이트 top half for local growth and generation.

Research England says it will conduct a review of 바카라사이트 first iteration of 바카라사이트 KEF ¨C which is not currently used to inform funding, although this has been mooted as its eventual aim ¨C to inform how it develops in 바카라사이트 future.

The Westminster government¡¯s science minister, Amanda Solloway, said universities had a ¡°critical part to play in our efforts to build back better from 바카라사이트 pandemic ¨C from bringing toge바카라사이트r local communities and businesses, to carrying out ambitious R&D that creates a diverse range of jobs and drives local economic growth¡±.

She added that 바카라사이트 KEF would provide ¡°a?mechanism to measure performance and increase collaboration, ensuring our university sector continues delivering both economic and social benefits¡±.
