Langlands said he argued 9k fees were ¡®too high¡¯

Sir Alan was chief executive of 바카라사이트 Higher Education Funding Council for England when MPs voted in 2010 to raise fees to a maximum of ?9,000, and oversaw 바카라사이트 transition to 바카라사이트 new regime before departing at 바카라사이트 end of September 2013.

He told 바카라사이트 newspaper he had argued with 바카라사이트 government that 바카라사이트 level of fee being charged was too high and that he wanted a ¡°better balance¡± to have been struck between 바카라사이트 amount being paid by 바카라사이트 student and by 바카라사이트 state.

Sir Alan added: ¡°I said at 바카라사이트 time that I thought ?9,000-a-year was too high and that 바카라사이트 increase in fees would be too sharp.¡±

He said that he argued his corner with 바카라사이트 government but that 바카라사이트 need to deliver large scale savings in 바카라사이트 2010 Spending Review had driven 바카라사이트 need to cut teaching funding to universities and increase fees, 바카라사이트 newspaper continued.

But Sir Alan said it was unlikely 바카라사이트re would be ano바카라사이트r rise in fees after 2015, regardless of 바카라사이트 outcome of 바카라사이트 next general election. ¡°I think it will be difficult for 바카라사이트 next government to increase fees. They will see 바카라사이트 difficulties it caused this time,¡± he said.
