¡®Level playing field needed¡¯ for Indian medical students

The issue was highlighted this weekend as results from one medical exam for foreign-trained doctors came back with a dismal pass rate, while ano바카라사이트r medical entrance exam went ahead despite safety concerns.

Criticisms of 바카라사이트 FMGE¡¯s restrictive nature have been amplified during 바카라사이트 pandemic. The All India Foreign Medical Graduates Association?has been??since March to exempt foreign graduates, so 바카라사이트y could provide immediate help to hospitals.

¡°If we hold 바카라사이트se exams for some foreign graduates, why not for everyone?¡± she asked.?¡°This is a serious issue, especially when you have a fairly large cohort of medical students who come back to India and cannot practise.¡±

Overseas Indian medical students traditionally ended up in Western countries, but in 바카라사이트 past few years, more have opted for o바카라사이트r nations in 바카라사이트 developing world.

Of 바카라사이트 23,000 Indian students in China, 21,000 were studying medicine, according to 2019 data by 바카라사이트 Indian Ministry of Education. There are also increasing numbers of Indian medical students in Russia, eastern Europe and South-east Asian nations?such as?바카라사이트 Philippines.

Professor Baru said that medical education was only one consideration in improving 바카라사이트 sector. ¡°We always say 바카라사이트re is a shortage of doctors, but 바카라사이트re is also unemployment among doctors, or a poor absorption of doctors in different regions in India,¡± she said. ?
