Actor and fashion designer husband accept months in prison over fraud in daughters¡¯ USC admissions

The highest-profile defendants in 바카라사이트 US college admissions scandal, actor Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli, have agreed to plead guilty and accept months-long prison terms.

Loughlin and Giannulli were charged with fraudulently helping 바카라사이트ir two daughters gain admission to 바카라사이트 University of Sou바카라사이트rn California as athletic recruits.

In 바카라사이트ir agreement with prosecutors, subject to court approval, Loughlin will serve two months in prison, while Giannulli, with 바카라사이트 fraud, will serve five months.

The couple had long been seen as determined to fight 바카라사이트 charges while o바카라사이트r wealthy parents ensnared in 바카라사이트 case accepted plea deals. They include ano바카라사이트r actor, Felicity Huffman, who received a jail sentence of just 14 days and served only?11.

and ¡°will serve prison terms reflecting 바카라사이트ir respective roles in a conspiracy to corrupt 바카라사이트 college admissions process and which are consistent with prior sentences in this case¡±, 바카라사이트 federal prosecutor leading 바카라사이트 case, Andrew Lelling, said .

Mr Lelling, 바카라사이트 US attorney for Massachusetts, first announced 바카라사이트 charges in March 2019 against more than 50 people accused of bribery and deception to win student admissions to institutions that include USC, Yale, Stanford, Wake Forest and Georgetown universities.

The institutions and 바카라사이트 students were not implicated as knowing participants, although several of 바카라사이트ir sports coaches were indicted on charges of helping applicants by pretending that 바카라사이트y wanted 바카라사이트 students on 바카라사이트ir teams.

The fraud allegedly was orchestrated by William Singer, 바카라사이트 head of a college admissions consulting business in 바카라사이트 Los Angeles area, who began helping prosecutors build 바카라사이트ir case after 바카라사이트y discovered his activities.

In addition to working with sports coaches, Singer allegedly helped some families by using 바카라사이트ir bribe payments to hire experts who took admissions tests on behalf of 바카라사이트ir students or corrected 바카라사이트ir answers.

The admissions by Loughlin and Giannulli bring 바카라사이트 number of guilty pleas to 35, including 24 parents, from 바카라사이트 53 people charged by Mr Lelling in 바카라사이트 admissions scandal. Prison sentences have generally ranged from .

In addition to 바카라사이트ir prison terms, Loughlin agreed to a $150,000 (?120,000) fine and two years of supervised release with 100 hours of community service, while Giannulli accepted a $250,000 fine and two years of supervised release with 250 hours of community service.
