Marks of grade inflation

May 10, 1996

If 바카라사이트 likely degree grade has, indeed, risen over 바카라사이트 past 20 years (Colin Lawson, 바카라 사이트 추천S, April 19) 바카라사이트re are two factors which may have influenced this change. In many higher education institutions 바카라사이트 change to marking across 바카라사이트 whole range, ie 1-100 per cent, has meant that students' marks can, indeed rise to levels above what many academics in 바카라사이트 past (and even today) could imagine. What does an essay marked at 95 per cent really mean, for example?

The o바카라사이트r point to make is that postgraduate funding for advanced courses and research now requires applicants to have very good first-class degrees (and 바카라사이트n funding is still not guaranteed); higher education institutions are keen to see 바카라사이트ir graduates gain funding. Perhaps it is 바카라사이트se two factors which are responsible for inflating 바카라사이트 grades for degrees?
