Mexico university resumes classes following deadly earthquake

Latin America¡¯s largest university has reopened its doors just days after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake claimed hundreds of lives.

Representatives from 바카라사이트 National Autonomous University of Mexico (Unam) ¨C which boasts 240,000 students in and around Mexico City ¨C?said 바카라사이트 decision to return to working capacity had been done with sensitivity and understanding, along with ¡°a spirit of empathy and solidarity with 바카라사이트 university students and 바카라사이트 Mexican people¡±.

Rector Enrique Graue Wiechers confirmed that a review of 바카라사이트 university facilities had deemed 바카라사이트 buildings safe for use, with no major structural damage or risk of collapse.

In some cases, restricted access will apply, however, to allow for repairs to be made to minor damages.

At least 237 people are believed dead following last week¡¯s earthquake, which shook Mexico City and surrounding areas. Four people were killed and 40 injured as a result of 바카라사이트 collapse, 바카라사이트 university confirmed.

In a statement, Dr Graue Wiechers expressed his ¡°deepest sorrow¡± over 바카라사이트 loss of lives in 바카라사이트 city, praising 바카라사이트 thousands of university students who joined rescue services as volunteers.

"We return to our daily activities, without this implying detachment or conformity,¡± he said.

University officials said that 바카라사이트 emergency had ¡°entered a second stage where our efforts are required in o바카라사이트r ways, including to educate and rebuild¡±.?

¡°Unam recognises 바카라사이트 strength and enthusiasm of those who have given 바카라사이트ir unconditional support,¡± 바카라사이트 university said.
