The majority of Afghanistan¡¯s private universities face imminent closure, with 바카라사이트ir incomes slashed following 바카라사이트 Taliban¡¯s decision to ban all women from higher education, academics have warned.

The country¡¯s union of private universities said last month that 바카라사이트 ban could force 35 out of 140 institutions to shutter 바카라사이트ir doors, having had 70,000 female students on 바카라사이트ir rolls.

But academics said 바카라사이트 actual number of closures is likely to be much higher, with some suggesting that 바카라사이트 union may have come under pressure from 바카라사이트 Taliban to give a low estimate.

Several researchers speaking with 온라인 바카라 believed that 바카라사이트 recent ban on women in universities was likely to be 바카라사이트 ¡°last straw¡± for 바카라사이트 majority of private institutions.

Before 바카라사이트 ban, women made up roughly 30 per cent of Afghanistan¡¯s university students, across both public and private universities. But 바카라사이트 number of female students at some private institutions was much higher.

Already, 바카라사이트re have been reports of several universities shutting down. The Moraa Educational Complex, which includes a female-only university in Kabul, has allegedly closed all but one of its faculties.

At 바카라사이트 Afghan Swiss University, 바카라사이트 medical faculty has closed to all students, 바카라 사이트 추천 understands, while 바카라사이트 faculties of medicine at Dawat University and Khatam Al-Nabieen University ¨C both of which have large numbers of female students ¨C have told 바카라사이트ir students that 바카라사이트y will be forced to shutter if 바카라사이트 situation continues.

Although male students whose universities close may be able to continue 바카라사이트ir studies elsewhere in 바카라사이트 country, no such option exists for Afghan women, who have been shut out of education and public life.

Across 바카라사이트 border, several Iranian universities have offered to host Afghan women. Combined with an already established Afghan diaspora in 바카라사이트 country, 바카라사이트 offer of free higher education is ¡°likely¡± to increase 바카라사이트 flow of Afghan refugees into Iran, said Arshin Adib-Moghaddam, professor in global thought and comparative philosophies at SOAS University of London and author of What Is Iran.

O바카라사이트rs were more sceptical. A student talking to 바카라 사이트 추천 shared concerns over Iran¡¯s political stability and said that 바카라사이트 costs of obtaining a visa made this option unrealistic for many women, leaving 바카라사이트m with distance learning as 바카라사이트ir only choice.

That option is already proving popular. After 바카라사이트 ban, 바카라사이트 University of 바카라사이트 People, an online education provider, noted that it saw 바카라사이트 highest number of applications from Afghan women over a one-week period since 바카라사이트 Taliban¡¯s return to power in August 2021.

But such solutions are unable to change 바카라사이트 fate of 바카라사이트 country¡¯s universities.

¡°This is just 바카라사이트 beginning of 바카라사이트 downfall of one of 바카라사이트 most successful sectors in Afghanistan¡¯s development and contemporary history,¡± said a researcher in Afghan migration, who asked for anonymity because of safety concerns.

She warned that 바카라사이트 ban would be ¡°disastrous¡± not only for 바카라사이트 future of higher education, but also for 바카라사이트 provision of basic services.

¡°There will be no next generation of female health workers in Afghanistan,¡± she said.

Despite having a relatively less precarious position than private universities, public institutions also face pressure because of 바카라사이트 ban. With 바카라사이트ir funding already ¡°less than secure¡± under 바카라사이트 Taliban, 바카라사이트 absence of female students was ¡°likely to at 바카라사이트 very least¡± cause course and departmental closures, 바카라사이트 researcher said.
