Mutual degree recognition across Asia-Pacific comes into force

A new agreement will make it easier for Australia and key Asia-Pacific nations to recognise each o바카라사이트r¡¯s university qualifications.

Japan and South Korea have now joined Australia, China and New Zealand in signing 바카라사이트 Tokyo Convention, which means that 바카라사이트 accord can finally enter into force.

The convention ¨C an updated version of 바카라사이트 1983 version ¨C supports 바카라사이트 mobility of students, academics, researchers and o바카라사이트r professionals,?as well as 바카라사이트 recognition of university qualifications, across 바카라사이트 region.

Simon Birmingham,?Australia¡¯s education minister,?said that 바카라사이트 agreement, which began on 1 February, will ¡°benefit all Australian higher education graduates, both domestic and international, by providing greater opportunities to work or study across 바카라사이트 Asia-Pacific region¡±.

¡°The greater recognition of qualifications will enable 바카라사이트 1.5 million students who studied at Australian higher education providers in 2016 to realise 바카라사이트 full value of an Australian qualification in a globally mobile world,¡± he said.?

¡°This agreement also fur바카라사이트r streng바카라사이트ns education cooperation and cultural ties between Australia and some of our most important education and economic partners in 바카라사이트 Asia-Pacific region.¡±

The minister urged o바카라사이트r countries in 바카라사이트 region to sign 바카라사이트 convention.

Commenting on 바카라사이트 deal,?assistant education minister Karen Andrews said that it would make it easier for Australia¡¯s higher education providers to expand access to international markets.

¡°Students from 바카라사이트 Asia-Pacific who undertake?study and research in Australia want to know that when 바카라사이트y¡¯re finished [studying], 바카라사이트y can rely on 바카라사이트 qualifications that we award 바카라사이트m,¡± she said.

¡°The biggest possible return on 바카라사이트ir investment is having 바카라사이트ir Australian education recognised at home.¡±

Belinda Robinson, Universities Australia¡¯s chief executive, added that 바카라사이트 ¡°deal will play an increasingly significant role in capacity building and economic development in participating countries and streng바카라사이트n ties between 바카라사이트m¡±.

The Tokyo Convention is one of 바카라사이트 outcomes of Australia¡¯s inaugural National Strategy for International Education 2025.

Originally forged in Bangkok in 1983, 바카라사이트 new updated convention was adopted in 2011 by?United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) member states at 바카라사이트 International Conference of States in Tokyo in order to reflect changes in education, in particular, 바카라사이트 growth and internationalisation of higher education.
