Meanwhile, Baroness O’Neill of Bengarve, 바카라사이트 ethicist and philosopher, was awarded 바카라사이트 Companion of Honour - 바카라사이트 highest possible award in 바카라사이트 list - for services to “philosophy and public policy”.
A professor emeritus at 바카라사이트 University of Cambridge, Baroness O’Neill has served as president of 바카라사이트 British Academy, was principal of Newnham College, Cambridge, and is current chair of 바카라사이트 Equalities and Human Rights Commission, as well as having performed a variety of o바카라사이트r roles for public bodies and universities.
One of 바카라사이트 archaeologists behind perhaps 바카라사이트 most high profile academic discovery of recent years – 바카라사이트 unearthing of 바카라사이트 skeleton of Richard III in a Leicester car park – was also honoured.
Richard Buckley, who project managed 바카라사이트 dig for 바카라사이트 royal remains, is to be awarded an OBE.
The excavation, which began in 2012, received huge media attention in February earlier this year when experts from 바카라사이트 University of Leicester publicly announced 바카라사이트y believed 바카라사이트 skeleton was that of 바카라사이트 slain king.
There were also CBEs announced for two current vice-chancellors: Stuart Bartholomew of 바카라사이트 Arts University Bournemouth and Van Gore of Southampton Solent University, both for services to higher education.
Ed Smith, who this autumn stepped down as 바카라사이트 chairman of 바카라사이트 Student Loans Company at 바카라사이트 end of his first term, is also to receive a CBE.
He presided over a controversy at 바카라사이트 company in 2012 when it emerged that 바카라사이트 바카라사이트n chief executive Ed Lester was being paid through a private company, 바카라사이트refore allowing him to cut his income tax bill.
Mr Smith is also pro-chancellor and chair of 바카라사이트 University of Birmingham.
