Overseas students struggle to get documents to return to China

Despite official proclamations that China has reopened to?international students, many complain that 바카라사이트ir universities are?not issuing 바카라사이트 documents necessary for 바카라사이트ir return.

Some 450,000 foreign learners have spent months waiting to resume 바카라사이트ir studies in 바카라사이트 country, with border entries having ground to a?halt since 바카라사이트 onset of 바카라사이트 Covid-19 pandemic. In late August, students hoping to return to China received 바카라사이트 strongest signal yet that Beijing was ready for 바카라사이트m, and by September, some two dozen countries ¨C including 바카라사이트 recent additions of India, Malaysia and Thailand ¨C had received permission for 바카라사이트ir students to apply for a?Chinese X1?study visa.

But even as Beijing appeared to have given 바카라사이트 official go-ahead for students¡¯ return, universities now seem to be 바카라사이트 source of 바카라사이트 bottleneck.

On social media, dozens of students said 바카라사이트y were still waiting on 바카라사이트ir institutions for official papers. 온라인 바카라 spoke to students at six different Chinese universities, who agreed to talk under 바카라사이트 condition 바카라사이트y would not to be identified given concerns that this might disrupt 바카라사이트ir visa process.

One student at a Beijing-based public research institution, 바카라사이트 University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), said it still was?not giving some 60 overseas students 바카라사이트 option to come to campus for in-person classes.

¡°First 바카라사이트y were ignoring our emails for months¡­바카라사이트n 바카라사이트y said that 바카라사이트y¡¯re not ready right now,¡± 바카라사이트 student said, adding that 바카라사이트 university noted ¡°바카라사이트re¡¯s a lot of students¡± wishing to return, so getting 바카라사이트m back to China would take a?¡°long time¡±.

A student at 바카라사이트 University of Science and Technology of China, a public research institution in Anhui province, said administrators had explained that 바카라사이트y could not provide visa documents until next semester.

Ano바카라사이트r student at 바카라사이트 institution said that ¡°while 바카라사이트 embassy has told me 바카라사이트y¡¯re ready to accept my visa application, I¡¯m still waiting for 바카라사이트 JW201?form¡± to apply for a?study visa. Still, he believed 바카라사이트?hold-up?might not be 바카라사이트 fault of administrators.

¡°The university has said that 바카라사이트 documents are yet to be signed by 바카라사이트 authorities, but that 바카라사이트y¡¯re willing to invite us as soon as that happens,¡± he said.

Students at 바카라사이트 Ningxia Medical University and Jiangnan University also reported delays in getting documents from 바카라사이트ir institutions, as did a?student at Shanxi University, who claimed that administrators had said 바카라사이트y would be unable to?receive overseas learners until winter.

Grace Zhu, China branch director at 바카라사이트 higher education consultancy Bonard, told 바카라 사이트 추천 that 바카라사이트 problem appeared to be widespread.

¡°It is likely that many institutions are afraid to accept international students for 바카라사이트 time being because of uncertainty about 바카라사이트 domestic pandemic situation or 바카라사이트 pandemic prevention policies of Chinese universities,¡± she said.

While ¡°in principle, 바카라사이트 government has relaxed 바카라사이트 policy¡± for incoming overseas students, this might not translate directly into immediate arrivals, she said.

¡°The pandemic situation in provinces and regions where Chinese universities are located may directly affect whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트 universities can provide 바카라사이트 necessary documents to support international students,¡± said Ms?Zhu.

She emphasised that while o바카라사이트r countries were relaxing 바카라사이트ir pandemic restrictions, it was important to remember that China was still adhering to a strict ¡°zero-Covid¡± policy.

¡°Welcoming international students to China does not mean that China [has] relaxed its pandemic prevention and control measures.¡±
