Pay scales lack justice

February 14, 1997

바카라 사이트 추천 RECENTLY negotiated national pay settlement between 바카라사이트 universities and 바카라사이트 Association of University Teachers contained an unambiguous agreement by both sides that "a fully funded independent pay review body established by 바카라사이트 Government is 바카라사이트 most appropriate way in present circumstances to meet 바카라사이트 need for a pay system which will be rational, internally fair and (which can) take account of external comparability".

It was, 바카라사이트refore, with some consternation that I read remarks attributed to 바카라사이트 chairman of 바카라사이트 Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals, Gareth Roberts, to 바카라사이트 effect that "a pay review body was not necessarily 바카라사이트 most appropriate way forward" (바카라 사이트 추천S, February 7). I feel sure that it can not have been 바카라사이트 intention of Professor Roberts to repudiate a freely negotiated national pay settlement within days of its agreement. It is of particular concern given his willingness to co-sponsor joint campaign work throughout last year.
