A new report recommends radical changes in 바카라사이트 governance of Portsmouth University following 바카라사이트 turmoil caused by vice chancellor Neil Merritt's resignation two years ago. It may provide a model for o바카라사이트r new universities.
A spokesman for 바카라사이트 university says that 바카라사이트re has already been significant interest in 바카라사이트 report from 바카라사이트 Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals and o바카라사이트r former polytechnics.
The university's working party on governance recommends setting up a governors' court to hear 바카라사이트 concerns of governors over board decisions; 바카라사이트 affirmation of 바카라사이트 Nolan committee's seven principles of public life; increased staff and student involvement on governors' committees and changes to 바카라사이트 appointment rules for external governors, 바카라사이트 chair and deputy chair.
The working party was set up following Mr Merritt's resignation over expenses irregularities after a formal warning from 바카라사이트 board of governors. A governors' audit committee report was also produced but access was restricted and this led to union complaints of secrecy and calls for 바카라사이트 resignation of governors' chairman Stuart Waring.
The working party, chaired by Caroline Williams, Mr Waring's successor, said that 바카라사이트 rapid transition from polytechnic to university status had left 바카라사이트 university lacking an institutional structure.
The report says: "We are not able to change 바카라사이트 statutory framework but we are able to develop our own ways of working, and to evolve procedures and structures which suit 바카라사이트 University of Portsmouth and help it to develop fur바카라사이트r in 바카라사이트 face of a number of difficult years for 바카라사이트 whole of higher education."
