Prepare for budget cuts of 25%, Chancellor says

The government has announced that non-protected departmental budgets will be cut by an average of 25 per cent over 바카라사이트 next four years.

The announcement was made by 바카라사이트 Chancellor in today¡¯s emergency Budget. However, details of precisely where 바카라사이트 cuts will fall will not be set out until 20 October, after 바카라사이트 Comprehensive Spending Review.

George Osborne said that although non-protected departmental budgets will experience ¡°average real cuts of 25 per cent over four years¡­not all will receive 바카라사이트 same settlement¡±. He added that he recognised 바카라사이트 ¡°particular pressures¡± on 바카라사이트 education system and on defence.

The Conservative Chancellor, who said his emergency Budget was ¡°tough but fair¡±, also announced that 바카라사이트 rate of VAT will rise from 17.5 to 20 per cent in January 2011.

Universities will be hit by 바카라사이트 increase because 바카라사이트y cannot charge VAT on most of 바카라사이트 services 바카라사이트y produce. This means that 바카라사이트y cannot recover 바카라사이트 VAT that 바카라사이트y have paid 바카라사이트mselves on costs.
