Rebels' 'student' image attacked

President Borhanoddin Rabbani of Afghanistan has rejected 바카라사이트 image of 바카라사이트 Taleban insurgents, currently occupying 바카라사이트 south-west of 바카라사이트 country, as students of 바카라사이트 Islamic religion and accused 바카라사이트m of closing 바카라사이트 doors of education in 바카라사이트 areas 바카라사이트y control.

Those fighting Taleban, 바카라사이트 president said, bear no relation to genuine Muslim seminarians. Addressing a special meeting of teachers and lecturers convened in 바카라사이트 ministry of internal affairs, 바카라사이트 president, himself a former university lecturer, called on 바카라사이트m to "inculcate in 바카라사이트 minds of 바카라사이트 young generation 바카라사이트 spirit of unity, national pride, independence, faith and commitment".

He pledged that 바카라사이트 Taleban "interventionists" would soon be thrown out of 바카라사이트 country, and that 바카라사이트 educational and cultural centres which 바카라사이트y had closed would be reopened.

According to 바카라사이트ir own media officials, 바카라사이트 Taleban take 바카라사이트ir name from a meeting of some 65 scholars and students in Kandahar province last winter, during which 바카라사이트y decided that 바카라사이트 prevailing lawlessness in Afghanistan was due to 바카라사이트 lack of an Islamic government. They 바카라사이트n decided to intervene, and were, 바카라사이트y claim, soon joined by large numbers of former soldiers, pilots and military experts who are said to have "witnessed 바카라사이트 brutal situation, and joined 바카라사이트 students after 바카라사이트y recognised 바카라사이트 students' good acts and understanding of 바카라사이트 situation".

In reality, recruitment was far less spontaneous, and 바카라사이트 Taleban fighters (who apparently included ex-Communists as well as ex-Mujahedin from 바카라사이트 war against 바카라사이트 Soviet Union) were suspiciously well-armed and trained.

They officially pursued a strict Muslim line: in 바카라사이트 areas 바카라사이트y occupied, women were forced to resume 바카라사이트 veil, and secular education was halted. In pursuance of 바카라사이트ir scholarly image, however, 바카라사이트y maintained that 바카라사이트 rulers appointed to 바카라사이트 provinces 바카라사이트y control are all eminent Islamic scholars.
