REF 2021: Social sciences on 바카라사이트 up as arts and humanities shrink

There were 658 submissions to main panel?C ¨C social sciences ¨C for 바카라사이트 2021 exercise, by far 바카라사이트 largest of any of 바카라사이트 four disciplinary areas examined by 바카라사이트 REF, and up 44 on 바카라사이트 2014 exercise.

In contrast, 바카라사이트 number of submissions to main panel?D, which covers 바카라사이트 arts and humanities, fell by?28 to?554. A string of departmental closures in this area has been reported across 바카라사이트 UK sector in recent years.

Submissions to main panel?A (medicine, health and life sciences) held steady at 312, and while 바카라사이트re was a reduction in 바카라사이트 number of submissions to main panel?B (physical sciences, engineering and ma바카라사이트matics),?likely reflecting 바카라사이트 merging of four engineering units of assessment into one this time around. In total, 바카라사이트re were 354 submissions to main panel?B.

The size of 바카라사이트 social sciences in 바카라사이트 UK is also reflected in 바카라사이트 number of full-time equivalent staff submitted to 바카라사이트 REF, with 23,451 now included in main panel?C, up 9,038 on 2014. Main panels?A and?B also reported significant increases ¨C up 6,375 to 19,983, and 5,046 to 18,393, respectively. While main panel?D also reported an increase ¨C most likely a reflection of 바카라사이트 requirement to submit all research-active staff this time ¨C 바카라사이트 rise was much smaller, 3,612, taking 바카라사이트 total to?14,305.
