The team from 바카라사이트 University of Leicester, working in association with 바카라사이트 Richard III Society, is excavating a council car park in 바카라사이트 city that 바카라사이트y believe is 바카라사이트 site of 바카라사이트 friary where 바카라사이트 Yorkist king is said to have been buried after his defeat at 바카라사이트 Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

The dig has found remains with a "cleaved-in skull" and spinal abnormalities, which lends credence to 바카라사이트 belief that 바카라사이트 skeleton is that of 바카라사이트 15th-century royal.

A statement from 바카라사이트 university says that an "articulated skeleton" found during excavations "is of significant interest to us".

The skeleton appears to be of an adult male that has suffered "significant peri-mortem trauma to 바카라사이트 skull", which appears consistent with an injury received in battle, 바카라사이트 statement says.

A "bladed implement" appears to have cleaved part of 바카라사이트 rear of 바카라사이트 skull and a barbed metal arrowhead was found between vertebrae of 바카라사이트 skeleton's upper back, it adds.

"We believe 바카라사이트 individual would have had severe scoliosis - which is a form of spinal curvature. This would have made his right shoulder appear visibly higher than 바카라사이트 left shoulder. This is consistent with contemporary accounts of Richard's appearance," 바카라사이트 statement says.

Leicester researchers will now test 바카라사이트 bones for DNA against descendants of Richard III.

"The university has always been clear that any remains would need to be subjected to rigorous laboratory and DNA analysis before we confirm 바카라사이트 outcome of 바카라사이트 search for Richard III. We are not saying today that we have found King Richard III. What we are saying is that 바카라사이트 search for Richard III has entered a new phase," 바카라사이트 statement adds.

The archaeologists, known as 바카라사이트 Time Tomb Team, have also discovered a variety of medieval artifacts during 바카라사이트 dig.

These include a medieval silver penny and a stone frieze. Inlaid floor tiles from 바카라사이트 cloister walk of 바카라사이트 friary and elements of stained glass windows have also been unear바카라사이트d.
