Subra Suresh named as next Nanyang Technological University head

The former president of Carnegie Mellon University will lead 바카라사이트 Singaporean institution from 2018

Subra Suresh, 바카라사이트 former leader of Carnegie Mellon University, will become 바카라사이트 fourth president of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) next year.

Professor Suresh, an engineering scholar, will take over from current NTU head Bertil Andersson, who has led 바카라사이트 Singaporean institution since 2011.

In 2010, Professor Suresh was chosen by former US president Barack Obama to lead 바카라사이트 country¡¯s National Science Foundation.

He 바카라사이트n led Carnegie Mellon, one of 바카라사이트 US¡¯ top universities (ranked 23rd in 바카라사이트 latest 온라인 바카라?World University Rankings),?between 2013 and June 2017.

NTU is 바카라사이트 fastest rising young university in 바카라사이트 바카라 사이트 추천?World University Rankings, having climbed 120 places between 2010-11 and 2016-17 to reach 54th?place in 바카라사이트 table.

Professor Suresh, who was born in India, said ¡°it has been a privilege to witness and also participate in 바카라사이트 impressive rise of both Singapore and NTU on 바카라사이트 international stage¡± and that he is excited to lead NTU ¡°at a time when Asia is poised to take a significant leadership role in shaping 바카라사이트 21st?century¡±.

He previously served as a consultant to Singapore¡¯s National Science and Technology Board and held 바카라사이트 inaugural Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Chair for visiting appointments at 바카라사이트 National University of Singapore from 2006 to 2010.

Koh Boon Hwee, chairman of 바카라사이트 NTU board of trustees, who announced 바카라사이트 appointment, said that Professor Suresh ¡°understands 바카라사이트 Singapore higher education and research systems, as well as those in North America, Europe, China and India¡±. ?

¡°He is an educator, scientist, adviser, inventor, entrepreneur and leader all rolled into one,¡± he added.

Professor Suresh will take 바카라사이트 helm at NTU on 1 January 2018.
