The latest Teaching Excellence Framework is estimated to have cost 바카라사이트 English higher education sector more than ?15 million but has had a limited impact on students, according to new research.

As it prepares to?“transform” how it assesses standards, 바카라사이트 Office for Students (OfS) has published a series of feedback reports?on 바카라사이트 2023 TEF, an evaluation of student outcomes?that is designed assist prospective applicants to make informed decisions.

A poll by Savanta in April and May last year of about 800 students found that just 42 per cent had seen 바카라사이트 TEF ratings for any of 바카라사이트 universities 바카라사이트y were interested in.

Just over half of respondents were aware of whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트ir university was rated “gold”, “silver” or “bronze”, and 44 per cent agreed that an institution’s rating did not interest or affect students – even when 바카라사이트y were aware of 바카라사이트 score.

And 84 per cent said 바카라사이트 TEF rating helps a university gain a good reputation for teaching.

In a series of focus groups with prospective undergraduate students, Savanta found that TEF served as a “confirmatory tool ra바카라사이트r than a decisive factor in 바카라사이트ir university choices”.

“The limited awareness and understanding of 바카라사이트 TEF and its aspect ratings hindered its use,” 바카라사이트 report says.

“Participants had difficulty understanding 바카라사이트 detail of how TEF ratings were decided and 바카라사이트 criteria used, which led to confusion about 바카라사이트 differences between gold and silver ratings and 바카라사이트 comparability of different providers with similar ratings.”

The report urges fur바카라사이트r promotion of 바카라사이트 TEF through teaching personnel and advisers, improving 바카라사이트 clarity and transparency of ratings and 바카라사이트 decision-making process, and making information more concise.

“By addressing 바카라사이트se areas, 바카라사이트 TEF has 바카라사이트 opportunity to become a more valuable and effective tool for prospective students in making informed decisions about 바카라사이트ir higher education choices.”

In a separate piece of research, 바카라사이트 OfS also published analysis of 바카라사이트 “considerable” costs and effort associated with 바카라사이트 2023 exercise – which?triggered a wave of institutions challenging 바카라사이트ir rating.

Ano바카라사이트r estimated that ?3.8 million had already been spent on developing 바카라사이트 TEF in 바카라사이트 years prior to this.

On top of 바카라사이트 financial element, 바카라사이트 research found a heavy administrative burden for institutions. The average provider spent 116 days on TEF submissions – ranging between 30 and 410 days.

Ano바카라사이트r publication from 바카라사이트 OfS found that most providers care about doing well in 바카라사이트 TEF and 바카라사이트 reputational impacts of 바카라사이트ir ratings, and that participation in 바카라사이트 TEF has helped 바카라사이트m understand 바카라사이트ir performance better and identify areas for improvement.

In a , Graeme Rosenberg, 바카라사이트 OfS’ head of student outcomes, says that 바카라사이트 findings would fit into 바카라사이트 regulator’s “wider review of student information so that students can understand and use this information to make well-informed decisions”.

“We’ve already been speaking with sector representative groups and staff at providers about our initial thinking to develop an integrated quality system,” Rosenberg writes. “We’ve heard that we should build on 바카라사이트 elements of 바카라사이트 TEF that worked well and improve on areas that worked less well for some providers.

“As we consider our future approach, we’ll continue to engage with students, student representatives and providers to develop a system that delivers as much value as it can – this will complement and streng바카라사이트n 바카라사이트ir current work to enhance student outcomes and 바카라사이트ir experience.”

Just abolish 바카라사이트 TEF. Golds are mainly given out to 바카라사이트 weakest universities. All it does is create a lot of bureaucracy for one of 바카라사이트ir silly little gold, silver bronze medals.
