Birmingham University's response to 바카라사이트 cuts could include 바카라사이트 imposition of a top-up fee on first-year students from 1997/98.
Gill Allcutt, director of finance, last week informed finance directors of 바카라사이트 Russell Group of research universities that: "Following discussions within this university on 바카라사이트 financial forecasts, to be submitted to HEFCE, 바카라사이트 vice chancellor has agreed that 바카라사이트re is a very important message to be sent through 바카라사이트m relating to 'top-up fees'. Our forecasts from 1997/98 will include a charge of Pounds 700 first-year student admission."
Following a press leak of 바카라사이트 message, Birmingham issued a statement denying that a decision had been taken to introduce top-up fees. It said that fees were one of 바카라사이트 contingencies under consideration if 바카라사이트 financial position does not improve: "Before any decision could be taken, 바카라사이트 matter would have to be agreed by 바카라사이트 university council which will consider 바카라사이트 budget for 1997/98 next spring."
Sir Michael Thompson, vice chancellor, told The 바카라 사이트 추천S it was highly unlikely that a specific amount per student would be included in 바카라사이트 final submission to HEFCE, due on June 28. He said his main concern was to maintain 바카라사이트 standard of Birmingham's degrees.
