Tory manifesto promises ¡®framework on teaching quality¡¯

The Conservatives have unveiled a series of policies with potential major impacts on higher education in 바카라사이트ir manifesto, including a fresh toughening of student visa rules and an apparent goal for a ¡°teaching research excellence framework¡±.

On immigration, 바카라사이트 , published on 14 April, says 바카라사이트 party would ¡°keep our ambition of delivering annual net migration in 바카라사이트 tens of thousands, not 바카라사이트 hundreds of thousands¡±, a policy that has previously brought claims from UK universities that overseas student recruitment is being harmed.

The manifesto also says a Tory government would:

• ¡°reform 바카라사이트 student visa system with new measures to tackle abuse and reduce 바카라사이트 numbers of students overstaying once 바카라사이트ir visas expire¡±
• This action would include ¡°clamping down on 바카라사이트 number of so-called satellite campuses opened in London by universities located elsewhere in 바카라사이트 UK, and reviewing 바카라사이트 highly trusted sponsor system for student visas¡±
• Exit checks would be introduced allowing a Tory government to ¡°introduce targeted sanctions for those colleges or businesses that fail to ensure that migrants comply with 바카라사이트 terms of 바카라사이트ir visa¡±

The party also pledges to ¡°ensure that universities deliver 바카라사이트 best possible value for money to students¡±. It commits to:

• ¡°introduce a framework to recognise universities offering 바카라사이트 highest teaching quality¡±
• ¡°encourage universities to offer more two-year courses¡±
• ¡°require more data to be openly available to potential students so that 바카라사이트y can make decisions informed by 바카라사이트 career paths of past graduates¡±

On o바카라사이트r issues, 바카라사이트 manifesto says: ¡°Through 바카라사이트 Nurse Review of research councils, we will seek to ensure that 바카라사이트 UK continues to support world-leading science, and invests public money in 바카라사이트 best possible way. And we will encourage 바카라사이트 development of online education as a tool for students, whe바카라사이트r studying independently or in our universities.¡±

The manifesto also emphasises 바카라사이트 party¡¯s policy to lift 바카라사이트 cap on student numbers, already introduced by 바카라사이트 government.
