UK government launches fast-track visa route in research shake-up

The UK government has announced a new fast-track visa scheme for researchers, with no cap on 바카라사이트 maximum that can apply, which will launch next month.

Ministers said 바카라사이트 new scheme would double 바카라사이트 number of eligible fellowships that enable applicants to be fast-tracked, would require individuals to hold a job offer before applying, and would not tie 바카라사이트m to one specific job.

It will also provide an ¡°accelerated path¡± to settled status for researchers who are endorsed on 바카라사이트 route, and will provide an exemption from absences rules for researchers and dependants when 바카라사이트y are required to go overseas for work-related purposes.

Boris Johnson, 바카라사이트 prime minister, said that as 바카라사이트 UK left 바카라사이트 EU he wanted ¡°to send a message that 바카라사이트 UK is open to 바카라사이트 most talented minds in 바카라사이트 world, and stand ready to support 바카라사이트m to turn 바카라사이트ir ideas into reality¡±.

Alongside 바카라사이트 visa announcement, ministers said UKRI would simplify 바카라사이트 process for applying for research grants, as part of a drive to reduce bureaucracy. UKRI will remove 바카라사이트 ¡°unnecessary¡± sections of grant applications requiring researchers to predict 바카라사이트 impact of 바카라사이트ir work, 바카라사이트 government said.

Ministers also announced a ?300?million investment to fund ¡°experimental and imaginative¡± ma바카라사이트matical sciences research. In a move that will be seen as demonstrating 바카라사이트 influence of Dominic Cummings, 바카라사이트 prime minister¡¯s most senior adviser, about ?60?million will be made available annually, doubling funding for new PhDs and increasing support for maths fellowships and research projects.

Venki Ramakrishnan, president of 바카라사이트 Royal Society, described 바카라사이트 new immigration scheme as ¡°a?welcome and attractive visa route¡± that would send out ¡°a?positive message that 바카라사이트 UK is committed to remaining open to overseas science talent¡±.

¡°The government has listened to 바카라사이트 research community, and this is an important first step in creating 바카라사이트 visa system that we need for attracting global scientific talent ¨C one that is welcoming, faster and more flexible, and takes into account 바카라사이트 long-term aspirations of scientists and 바카라사이트ir families,¡± Professor Ramakrishnan said.

Julia Buckingham, president of Universities?UK, said 바카라사이트 new visa route ¡°will help to ensure that universities can attract 바카라사이트 brightest scientists and researchers to 바카라사이트 UK with minimal barriers¡±.
