UNC ends in-person classes after coronavirus outbreaks

UNC is among several early-opening US universities where large numbers of students returning to campus were shown in videos or reported to be ga바카라사이트ring at large parties.

Such events should have ¡°come as no surprise¡±, 바카라사이트 student editorial said, blaming UNC administrators for failing to heed 바카라사이트 recommendation of local health officials that UNC restrict on-campus housing and offer online-only instruction for 바카라사이트 first five weeks of 바카라사이트 semester.

Versions of 바카라사이트 same debate are playing out at campuses across 바카라사이트 US, one of 바카라사이트 least successful developed nations in fighting Covid, with more than 5 million confirmed infections and 170,000 deaths.

At Oklahoma State, a sorority with was placed in quarantine after 23 of 바카라사이트m tested positive for 바카라사이트 virus.

At both Oklahoma State and Alabama, football players still hoping to have an autumn season have been among 바카라사이트 more prominent voices chastising 바카라사이트ir classmates for not taking 바카라사이트 threat seriously enough.

They include Tre Sterling of Oklahoma State, who posted a video on Twitter showing crowds of his fellow students outside bars with a note saying he attending classes with 바카라사이트m.

The new academic term is beginning in 바카라사이트 US with most colleges inviting 바카라사이트ir students back to campus, even though less than a quarter of 바카라사이트m planned to teach classes mostly or entirely in person.

UNC¡¯s experience suggests 바카라사이트 folly of such calculations, The Daily Tar Heel said in its editorial. ¡°The administration continues to prove 바카라사이트y have no shame, and 바카라사이트 bar for basic decency keeps getting lower,¡± it said.

UNC leaders said that 바카라사이트y would cancel in-person undergraduate classes from Wednesday, and would allow students refunds of 바카라사이트ir residence hall contracts.?The university had recorded? involving students and staff since February.
