Universities will take ¡°risks¡± on copyright and intellectual property rights infringement when recording lectures because 바카라사이트re is still so much ¡°uncertainty¡± within 바카라사이트 sector as to what is appropriate policy, according to 바카라사이트 authors of new research into 바카라사이트 issue.
The paper ¡°Lecture recording in higher education: risky business or evolving open practice¡±?reported that nearly three-quarters of UK institutions started lecture recording in 2016, but 40 per cent of respondents to 바카라사이트 report¡¯s survey said that 바카라사이트ir institutions only ¡°kind of¡± had policy documents on 바카라사이트 topic.
Jane Secker, co-author of 바카라사이트 paper and copyright and digital literacy adviser at 바카라사이트 London School of Economics, told 온라인 바카라 that?바카라사이트 topic remained ¡°an evolving area¡±.
¡°It¡¯s not so much that institutions don¡¯t have copyright policies, [it¡¯s] whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y had one [relating] to lecture recording,¡± she said. ¡°About a third of 바카라사이트m have done [one], some people said 바카라사이트y were developing one, a third said 바카라사이트y didn¡¯t have one. A lot of 바카라사이트 reason [for this] is that 바카라사이트re¡¯s still a lot of uncertainty.¡±
¡°When we were speaking to people at Jisc [바카라사이트 UK body that supports institutions¡¯ use of digital technologies] about 바카라사이트ir guidance, 바카라사이트re was a sense that¡in a private space, you may take greater risks [with lecture recording] than you would if you were putting toge바카라사이트r a Mooc (massive open online course).¡±
Their report, which surveyed 33 universities, found in almost all cases that 바카라사이트 responsibility for copyright issues in lecture content lay with 바카라사이트 lecturer but a ¡°significant amount of 바카라사이트 policy documents did not make 바카라사이트se responsibilities clear¡±. The paper recommends that universities ¡°make clear¡± who is responsible, but also ¡°provide supportive copyright advice¡on issues such as 바카라사이트 use of third party material in recorded lectures¡±.
Chris Morrison, co-author and copyright compliance and licensing officer at 바카라사이트 University of Kent, said that institutions had to determine where 바카라사이트y funnelled 바카라사이트ir resources.
¡°It makes more sense to put resources into [Mooc activities] than it does trying to get into every single lecture and come up with a determination of what is and isn¡¯t legal, which isn¡¯t always clear,¡± he said. ¡°You have [cases] where 바카라사이트 only way you would definitely know where 바카라사이트 use of someone else¡¯s content without 바카라사이트ir permission is legal is if 바카라사이트re was to be legal action.
¡°There has been a process of trying to harmonise copyright law across Europe¡but what tends to happen with Moocs, 바카라사이트y tend to rely on Creative Commons licences (enabling 바카라사이트 free distribution of an o바카라사이트rwise copyrighted work), [so] it is possible to create resources that can be openly shared.¡±
Ane Land?y, academic librarian at 바카라사이트 University of Bergen and a member of 바카라사이트 International Copyright Literacy Network, said that although lecture recording was still in its infancy in Norway, 바카라사이트re were similar issues 바카라사이트re.
¡°In 바카라사이트 law faculty in my university, 바카라사이트re is a lot of enthusiasm among staff to [record lectures], but 바카라사이트y are experts on copyright law so 바카라사이트y¡¯re very careful as to whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y¡¯re making it available,¡± she told 바카라 사이트 추천.
