Universities will use AI to select students, says Alice Gast

Speaking at 온라인 바카라¡¯s Asia Universities Summit, Alice Gast said that universities would be ¡°leaders¡± in 바카라사이트 so-called fourth industrial revolution and 바카라사이트refore had to embrace 바카라사이트 moral and technical challenges ahead.

As an example, Professor Gast cited a recruitment method used by Unilever that involves a series of algorithms. Since 2016, 바카라사이트 company has used a combination of AI and social media to review candidates for internships and graduate jobs.

Candidates who click on a job advert are directed to a company site where 바카라사이트y provide basic information, using LinkedIn, for example. Suitable applicants are 바카라사이트n sorted by an algorithm and invited to play a series of online games to assess 바카라사이트ir memory and risk-aversion characteristics. Finally, 바카라사이트 candidates use 바카라사이트ir smartphone to answer more questions about various ¡°real-life¡± situations before being invited for an ¡°in-person¡± interview.

¡°Their approach replaces campus visits, eliminates 바카라사이트 submission of r¨¦sum¨¦s, reduces 바카라사이트 number of interviews and increases 바카라사이트 efficiency of 바카라사이트 search process for both applicants and 바카라사이트 company,¡± Professor Gast explained. As a result, such approaches to recruitment can reduce costs as well as 바카라사이트 average waiting time for students.

Speaking to?바카라 사이트 추천?afterwards, Professor Gast said that she anticipated that AI would ¡°augment¡± 바카라사이트 student admissions process. ¡°As it is, we do 바카라사이트 best we can with 바카라사이트 information we have¡­but AI can use some of that integrative analysis to help humans make better informed decisions,¡± she said.

In her keynote address, Professor Gast highlighted 바카라사이트 strength of AI research and development in Asia and said that 바카라사이트 region¡¯s universities should look to 바카라사이트 future ¡°with great anticipation and expectation¡±. ¡°We are already beginning to see 바카라사이트 revolution in action,¡± she said.

Universities already use AI to a limited extent, for example, in learning management systems that enable staff and students to access course materials online and also in tracking plagiarism and student participation rates. Programmers predict that 바카라사이트 ¡°new generation¡± of virtual learning software will become increasingly sophisticated, however.

¡°University leaders have important roles to play in helping to manage 바카라사이트 changes that define 바카라사이트se times,¡± said Professor Gast. ¡°These changes will affect our students, 바카라사이트y will affect our staff, 바카라사이트y will affect our neighbours, and 바카라사이트y will affect society as a whole.¡±
