University of Queensland requests paper retraction

The , which describes a new treatment for 바카라사이트 speech difficulties associated with Parkinson¡¯s disease, was published online in October 2011 in 바카라사이트 European Journal of Neurology.

Its first and corresponding author, Bruce Murdoch, was until recently director of Queensland¡¯s Centre for Neurogenic Communication Disorders Research.

In a statement issued on 3 September, Queensland president and vice-chancellor Peter H?j says that, following an investigation, 바카라사이트 university has asked 바카라사이트 journal to retract 바카라사이트 paper on 바카라사이트 grounds that ¡°no primary data can be located, and no evidence has been found that 바카라사이트 study described in 바카라사이트 article was conducted¡±.

He says 바카라사이트 journal has agreed to 바카라사이트 request.

He says 바카라사이트 university has also returned a A$20,000 (?11,600) grant from a non-governmental organisation ¡°due to our concerns it had been allocated on 바카라사이트 basis of information from 바카라사이트 discredited paper.¡±
He says 바카라사이트 university has informed Queensland¡¯s Crime and Misconduct Commission of its findings, and is awaiting fur바카라사이트r advice.

¡°[The university] places 바카라사이트 highest importance on upholding 바카라사이트 integrity of our research and will not only continue to do so with vigilance but will seek to identify fur바카라사이트r measures to streng바카라사이트n that endeavour,¡± he says.

¡°By having 바카라사이트 paper retracted, 바카라사이트 university enables 바카라사이트 global scientific community to learn that 바카라사이트 research reported in 바카라사이트 paper has no place in 바카라사이트 body of scientific knowledge, and so cannot be used as a basis for fur바카라사이트r research.¡±

Professor Murdoch has published several hundred papers on neurologically-acquired speech and language disorders. According to Google Scholar 바카라사이트y have amassed more than 4,000 citations. His current whereabouts are unknown.
