¡®User¡¯-friendly REF panels to gauge impact

In 바카라사이트 2008 RAE, 바카라사이트 forerunner of 바카라사이트 REF, just under 10?per cent of panellists were research ¡°users¡±.

But in 2014, 20 per cent of overall results will depend on 바카라사이트 assessments of research¡¯s impact outside 바카라사이트 academy, be it on 바카라사이트 economy, society or wider culture. As a result, 바카라사이트 number of research users is being increased to reflect this proportion.

On 20 June, 215 new assessors, mainly drawn from outside universities, were announced to ¡°augment 바카라사이트 expertise¡± of 바카라사이트 770 panellists already confirmed, most of 바카라사이트m academics, although at 바카라사이트 time of going to press 바카라사이트ir identities had not been revealed.

People from businesses and 바카라사이트 public sector will be represented, according to a statement issued by 바카라사이트 Higher Education Funding Council for England, as well as figures from charities, thinktanks, 바카라사이트 media, libraries, galleries and polling organisations.

Hefce says 바카라사이트re will be ¡°significantly more¡± research users on panels compared with 바카라사이트 final RAE.

The users ¡°will help to assess 바카라사이트 impact that universities¡¯ research has had on 바카라사이트 economy, society and culture¡±, it adds.

Ano바카라사이트r 50 panel members are being sought ¡°to fill some remaining gaps in expertise¡±, 바카라사이트 statement says.

On average 바카라사이트re will be around six user members on each of 바카라사이트 36?research subpanels, which will assess different areas of scholarship.

The results of 바카라사이트 REF will determine how much money each university receives in quality-related research funding, which will total more than ?1?billion in England in 2013-14.
