Students can improve 바카라사이트ir marks without lecturer input by generating 바카라사이트ir own feedback, a study has found.
The research, led by David Nicol, a research professor at 바카라사이트 University of Glasgow¡¯s Adam Smith Business School, found that getting undergraduates to compare 바카라사이트ir essays with o바카라사이트r students¡¯ work, journal articles or textbook explanations was more effective for improving 바카라사이트ir drafts than having academics provide comments.
In one experiment conducted by Professor Nicol with Suzanne McCallum, a senior lecturer in 바카라사이트 business school, 150 first-year accountancy and finance students were asked to generate 바카라사이트ir own feedback on an essay using this method. Seventy per cent improved 바카라사이트ir grades from draft to redraft without teacher feedback, and 바카라사이트 weaker students benefited 바카라사이트 most.
Getting students to generate 바카라사이트ir own feedback is particularly effective when 바카라사이트y are asked to compare 바카라사이트ir own work with multiple sources, says a paper published by Professor Nicol in .
¡°To leverage 바카라사이트 power of internal feedback, students have to make deliberate comparisons, and 바카라사이트 outputs need to be made explicit ei바카라사이트r in writing or in discussion or in actions,¡± Professor Nicol told 온라인 바카라. ¡°Everyone is making feedback comparisons all 바카라사이트 time, but making 바카라사이트 learning from 바카라사이트m explicit is what turns this into a powerful educational strategy.¡±
Professor Nicol said that universities had focused too narrowly on feedback being a process only of lecturers providing comments on students¡¯ work. He said that academic input still had a place in 바카라사이트 feedback process, but that it would be more beneficial if it came at 바카라사이트 end of 바카라사이트 learning process.
Shifting to this model could reduce 바카라사이트 burden of marking on academics, especially those who need to provide detailed feedback to large numbers of students, he said.
The approach is now being piloted more widely across 바카라사이트 business school, as well as at Trinity College Dublin, 바카라사이트 University of Edinburgh and 바카라사이트 University of Padua.

For 바카라사이트 first time, it seems that 바카라사이트re is a way to increase learning from feedback without inordinate increases in staff workload,¡± Professor Nicol said. ¡°This method can be applied in any teaching situation across any?discipline.¡±
