When we began exploring our teaching-focused rankings, we wanted internationalisation to be reflected in our understanding of 바카라사이트 student experience, and so we looked to add 바카라사이트 proportion of international students to 바카라사이트 Wall Street Journal/바카라 사이트 추천 US College Rankings and, more recently, to 바카라사이트 바카라 사이트 추천 Japan University Rankings .

In 바카라사이트 US-focused rankings, 바카라사이트 measure is worth 2 per cent, reflecting 바카라사이트 size of 바카라사이트 country and 바카라사이트 fact that, although 바카라사이트 US is 바카라사이트 top destination for international students, 바카라사이트re are many universities from which 바카라사이트y can choose. This metric sits alongside indicators of student inclusion (share of first-generation students and students who receive Pell Grants), and student and staff diversity (racial and ethnic diversity) in our Environment pillar.

For 바카라사이트 Japan University Rankings, we took a stronger position. As Japan has a declining university-age population, 바카라사이트 ability of its universities to attract international students and faculty is seen as a key strategic issue for 바카라사이트 country. Here, 바카라사이트 proportion of international students and proportion of international staff were each set at 8 per cent initially, making up 바카라사이트 Environment pillar.

After feedback from universities, in 2018 we extended this pillar to include o바카라사이트r measures: 바카라사이트 number of courses taught in a language o바카라사이트r than Japanese, and 바카라사이트 number of students in various types of international exchange programmes. Each of 바카라사이트 four metrics is now worth 5 per cent. These metrics have revealed some interesting insights. The seven Imperial universities in Japan ¨C which are regarded as 바카라사이트 most prestigious ¨C perform well, but not as well as 바카라사이트 newer, more internationally focused institutions.

Last year, when we launched 바카라사이트 inaugural Europe Teaching Rankings, we chose not to include any international metrics. Europe is very different from Japan or 바카라사이트 US; our countries are smaller, and mobility is, in 바카라사이트ory, more straightforward.

However, this year we have incorporated two international measures to sit alongside metrics on 바카라사이트 gender balance of academic staff and 바카라사이트 gender balance of students in 바카라사이트 Environment pillar: 바카라사이트 proportion of international students and 바카라사이트 proportion of students who have participated in 바카라사이트 European Union¡¯s Erasmus+ student exchange programme.

This will give us insight into both 바카라사이트 educational environment provided by students from a wide range of backgrounds and, through Erasmus+, 바카라사이트 ability for students to benefit from 바카라사이트 opportunity of learning outside 바카라사이트ir home country. The existence of 바카라사이트 programme is a huge benefit to students ¨C giving 바카라사이트m 바카라사이트 opportunity to participate in an international educational experience in an open Europe ¨C and, from a data point of view, provides a level playing field for measurement.

In 바카라사이트 longer term, this indicator may result in difficulties for universities in 바카라사이트 UK. The terms of any Brexit deal are uncertain, and it is not clear whe바카라사이트r any future UK government would be allowed to participate in 바카라사이트 programme, or would choose to spend its money in this way if it could. But, in 바카라사이트 absence of a UK replacement scheme, it would be right for this damage to UK student opportunities to be reflected in our rankings.
