Al-Muthanna University was founded in 2007.
The university is located in Samawah, a city in Al-Multhanna Province, Iraq. Al-Multhanna Province is located in 바카라사이트 south of 바카라사이트 country, bordering Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The province is named after 바카라사이트 7th century Arab general Al-Muthanna ibn Haritha.

In January 2021 바카라사이트 university hosted its first International Scientific Conference of Engineering in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University in 바카라사이트 UK. The conference included researchers and specialists from 바카라사이트 fields of civil engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and materials engineering, architecture engineering, and electronic engineering.
