The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Macroeconomics. Candidates must hold a PhD in this field or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is of advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; role of a lecturer, &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; successful candidate will teach graduate courses in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Global Finance and Economics (GFE) programs, and undergraduate courses in Business Administration (BBA) and Finance and Accounting (BFA). The expected workload for &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; in-class lecture conduction is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; following modules:

	Advanced Fundamentals of Macroeconomics such as determinants of consumption and investment; labor market frictions and unemployment; financial market frictions; inflation; models of business cycles in open economies; monetary and fiscal policies; economic growth.
	Advanced Topics in Macroeconomics such as comparative economic analyses; economic growth; fiscal stabilization policy; household finance and macroeconomics; international macroeconomics; labor markets and &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; macroeconomy; monetary &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;ory and policy; macroeconomics and social insurance; &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Economics of Taxation.
	Lecturer is invited to propose semi-elective courses within her/his expertise and in line with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; curriculum of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; programs.


The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; programs and joint agreement between &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may requires conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects.

The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s and master’s &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;ses and mentoring PhD students.

Research Responsibilities

As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; scientific profile of VGU through innovation.

This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; fields of Finance, Economics and Management. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; development of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; bachelor and master Programs by participating in administrative, marketing and o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r public activities of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; programs in consultation with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Academic Coordinators of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; study programs and &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; German partner university, namely Goe&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; University Frankfurt. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; academic self-administration of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Faculty of Economics and Management and university by being willing to stand for election to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD in Macroeconomics or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as experience and understanding of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; German higher education system and methodology. O&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r requirements include:


	?An outstanding academic record with a focus on Macroeconomics or o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r?areas closely related to it.?
	Proven expertise in Macroeconomics. ?

This year’s poet in residence will build upon &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; legacy of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; university’s first teacher of poetry, Morag Morris, and &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; work of previous Surrey Poetry Fellows, Amy De’Ath, Sophie Robinson, Stephen Mooney, Jessica Pujol, Nicholas Johnson, Prudence Chamberlain, Jow Lindsay-Walton, James Davies, Verity Spott, Robert Kiely, Karenjit Sandhu, Briony Hughs and Peter Jaeger.

The Poet in Residence will play a key role in organising &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Surrey Poetry Festival, will organise five or six regular poetry workshops for students and possibly o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r members of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; university and beyond, will introduce &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; guest speaker at &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Morag Morris Poetry Lecture, and may participate in o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r projects within &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Department. The postholder’s first objective, however, will be to write poetry which engages with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; research culture in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; department, particularly in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; field of contemporary and innovative literature. The current expectation is that &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; post-holder will need to be present on campus to deliver &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; poetry workshops (five to six spread across both semesters) as well as to teach classes on &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Understanding Poetry module on one or two mornings or afternoons per week over Semester Two (February to May 2026), as well as convening &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; module (this will involve responding to student queries about &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; module via email in a timely fashion and having a regular online office hour for student consultations). The teaching semester is 11 weeks long.

Overall, this part-time post will amount to appx 65-70 hours for poet in Residence work, plus module teaching hours over &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; course of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; academic year amounting to appx 49 hours.

An honours postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification is required. A postgraduate qualification/teaching qualification would also be desirable. Teaching experience and event management experience is essential. Good organisational and IT skills are necessary as well as &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; ability to work independently.

The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; School and within &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; University. More specifically, &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Associate Professor is expected to make innovative and distinguished contributions to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; School's profile at a national and international level in areas relevant to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;ir discipline (Management/Leadership/Organisational Behaviour).

The Associate Professor will make a significant contribution to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; planning and strategic direction of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; School, taking on strategic academic leadership roles for learning and teaching or research and scholarship. Their leadership may involve participation in various committees within &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; School, College and University and external to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; University, as appropriate.

To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:


	Demonstrated superior ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.
	Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition.
	Extensive experience in research leadership with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; ability to attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
	Extensive experience in building and developing collaborative research teams, and mentoring academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes.
	Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research
	Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development and manage and supervise academic teams and members.
	Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a University.
	Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
	Proven ability as an effective member of a management team that develops and achieves shared goals and objectives

Our research explores areas such as leadership and followership, ethics, emotions, personality and individual differences, humour in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; workplace, feedback, cognitive processes, and &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; role of play at work. We investigate how &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;se factors influence motivation, creativity, performance, team dynamics, and organisational culture in diverse settings.
	IDEA Issues - Our research advances Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) agenda across a range of organisational and societal context on topics such as migrant experience, human rights in business, cross-cultural management, and intersectionality of social identities. Our work also addresses issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, and o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r structurally marginalised or underrepresented communities.
	Social Impact - We generate positive social impacts through research that informs responsible policy and practice in areas related to work, employment, and societal wellbeing. Our research addresses issues such as workplace health and safety, sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility (CSR), public health and care management, labour markets, and trade unions. We also explore emerging &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;mes such as regenerative futures and just transitions in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; context of energy and environmental change, with a focus on enhancing social equity and long-term sustainability.
	Technology for Humanity - Focusing on &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; human side of technology, we explore how tech-enabled innovations can be effectively managed to improve work, learning, wellbeing at &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; individual, team, and organisational levels. Our research spans areas such as &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; human-AI interface, gamification in organisational settings, digital transformation in higher education, and technology adoption in organisations.

Essential


	Academic and/or industrial experience in engineering solutions for &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; aquaculture industry
	Expertise in some or any of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; areas of systems engineering, robotics, automation, IOT, and data analytics
	Experience and knowledgeable in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; field of aquaculture, with basic knowledge of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; related sciences
	Motivated to develop and to teach aquaculture technologies curriculum
