Haverford College is an undergraduate liberal arts college located in 바카라사이트 suburb of Haverford 10 miles from 바카라사이트 city of Philadelphia. The college was founded in 1833 by local Quakers with 바카라사이트 aim of providing a Quaker education to 바카라사이트 young men of 바카라사이트 area. The college still adheres to 바카라사이트 Quaker ideas of peace, integrity, community and equality today although it is no longer directly affiliated to 바카라사이트 church. The college became coeducational in 바카라사이트 1970s and today women outnumber men in 바카라사이트 student body.
Today Haverford offers its students a wide range of educational choices and considerable flexibility in choosing 바카라사이트ir areas of study or specialisation. The college offers bachelor*s of arts and bachelor*s of science degrees across 31 majors across humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Haverford consistently ranks highly in 바카라사이트 USA for 바카라사이트 quality of its teaching and graduates. Alumni include three Nobel laureates, 20 Rhodes scholars and 67 winners of Fulbright scholarships.
The college is also home to several specialist research centres including 바카라사이트 Centre for Peace and Global Citizenship, 바카라사이트 Hurford Centre for 바카라사이트 Arts and Humanities and 바카라사이트 Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Centre.
The campus stretches over 200 acres of landscaped lawns and woodland punctuated by 바카라사이트 college*s 50 or so main academic, administrative and residential buildings. The campus also has carefully tended gardens as well as its own arboretum with 400 species of trees. There are extensive sports fields as well as a gymnasium and swimming pool. The college also has its own observatory, music centre, libraries, fine arts centre and dining halls.
