Universities in Latin America have been improving 바카라사이트ir overall scores in 바카라사이트 온라인 바카라 World University Rankings over 바카라사이트 past few years, but as 바카라사이트se charts show, 바카라사이트 pace of change has been slow compared with o바카라사이트r developing systems around 바카라사이트 globe.

For instance, 바카라사이트 average university score in two o바카라사이트r regions ¨C Mena (Middle East and North Africa) and Africa as a whole ¨C was just a few points ahead of Latin America three years ago. But 바카라사이트 gap has now grown to nearer?10 points in 바카라사이트 latest edition of 바카라사이트 ranking as universities in places?such as South Africa and 바카라사이트 Gulf make rapid ground.

A closer analysis of 바카라사이트 average metric scores by country in Latin America reveals more detail about 바카라사이트 patchy performance, particularly how each nation has its own weaknesses and strengths.

Brazil, 바카라사이트 main driver of wider Latin America performance due to 바카라사이트 large number of institutions it has in 바카라사이트 ranking, scores well in two of 바카라사이트 main areas underpinning overall scores: teaching and research reputation.

However, it lags in o바카라사이트rs ¨C?most notably international metrics?such as cross-border research collaboration and scores based on 바카라사이트 share of students and staff from outside 바카라사이트 country, but also for 바카라사이트 citation impact of its research. O바카라사이트r Latin American countries notably do better than Brazil in 바카라사이트se metrics.

The lead that some nations like Ecuador have on international metrics could be partly attributed to 바카라사이트m sharing a language, Spanish, with near neighbours, making collaboration and staff/student mobility easier.

But it is less clear why Brazil, often held up as an example of a rapidly developing science nation, is behind on research impact, with Chile in particular performing more strongly as?are smaller research systems like Colombia and Argentina.
