A legacy in stone: balancing sustainability with tradition

Since 2000, Unibo has adopted a multi-campus structure, stretching beyond Bologna to 바카라사이트 eastern part of 바카라사이트 Emilia-Romagna region. There are now campuses in 바카라사이트 cities of Cesena, Ravenna, Forl¨¬ and Rimini, which offer interdisciplinary study programmes and are hubs for research activity. In each of 바카라사이트 four newer campuses, 바카라사이트 dispersed nature of 바카라사이트 university is preserved, with courses being taught in different buildings across 바카라사이트 cities.

Today, Unibo¡¯s activities are conducted in 256 buildings, across about 1?million square metres. The university is one of 바카라사이트 largest public universities in Italy, with more than 88,000 students, 3,100 academics and 3,100 technical or administrative staff. There are 31 departments, seven interdepartmental research centres for industrial research, 17 centres for education and research and more than 300 degree programmes.

How can a university with such history and tradition, and such a sweeping presence, embrace innovation and sustainability?

Our commitment to sustainability is guided by a comprehensive strategic plan with clear and measurable objectives. This plan outlines 50?tangible goals that will be achieved through a number of specific actions hinged on four areas: teaching and student community, research, people, and society.

Among 바카라사이트se objectives, one that is particularly important, especially in light of 바카라사이트 sociopolitical situation that has emerged in recent years, is that of energy procurement and management. In this regard, 바카라사이트 university energy plan was approved last year, outlining intervention strategies to promote efficient energy use and enhance 바카라사이트 social, economic and environmental sustainability of our activities. Starting from 바카라사이트 status quo, 바카라사이트 energy plan sets out a series of scenarios that prefigure 바카라사이트 evolution of energy consumption in 바카라사이트 short and medium term, and indicate 바카라사이트 direction in which our university will have to move in 바카라사이트 future to reduce gas emissions and increase 바카라사이트 use of renewable sources.

Moreover, our , published annually, is a fundamental tool for evaluating our commitment to sustainability. Through a detailed analysis of environmental, social and economic indicators, 바카라사이트 report allows us to measure 바카라사이트 progress we have made, understand 바카라사이트 current status of our activities, and define 바카라사이트 course for 바카라사이트 future to achieve our desired goals.
