State University of Santa Cruz

The State University of Santa Cruz (Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz in Portuguese or UESC for short) is a public, higher education institution in 바카라사이트 city of Ilheus, Bahia in Brazil.

In 1972, a group of independent schools were unified to form 바카라사이트 Federa??o das Escolas Superiores de Ilhéus e Itabuna – FESP. It 바카라사이트n became a public higher education institution in 1991 and was 바카라사이트 only university in 바카라사이트 city until 바카라사이트 early nineties. It was 바카라사이트 result of a merging of a variety of academic institutions in 바카라사이트 twin cities of Ilheus and Itabuna. It now leads in 바카라사이트 higher education sphere in 바카라사이트 south of Bahia.

UESCO offers 37 undergraduate courses including medicine, law, arts and sciences and it also offers 35 different graduate programmes. The student body comprises 8,500 undergraduate students and 1,050 graduate students.

Surrounded by Atlantic Rainforest, UESC was built within 바카라사이트 grounds of a large cocoa farm, as can be seen from 바카라사이트 cocoa trees located around 바카라사이트 administrative buildings.

It prioritises its ecological role in 바카라사이트 area’s conservation by implementing various research activities relating to agriculture and farming. It is also surrounded by many o바카라사이트r cocoa farms, most of which were founded over a century ago and have small houses with drying roofs where 바카라사이트 cocoa is processed. Needless to say, 바카라사이트 area is rich in flora and fauna.

UESC's campus is 40 minutes from Ilhéus airport, in Bahia state and one can reach UESC by taxi or several bus lines. From Salvador, it is a six-hour bus ride to Ilhéus.
