About You

The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; School and within &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; University. To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:


	Demonstrated superior ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.
	Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition.
	Extensive experience in research leadership with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; ability to attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
	Extensive experience in building and developing collaborative research teams, and mentoring academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes.
	Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research
	Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development and manage and supervise academic teams and members.
	Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a University.
	Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.

	IDEA Issues - Our research advances Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) agenda across a range of organisational and societal context on topics such as migrant experience, human rights in business, cross-cultural management, and intersectionality of social identities. Our work also addresses issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, and o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r structurally marginalised or underrepresented communities.
	Social Impact - We generate positive social impacts through research that informs responsible policy and practice in areas related to work, employment, and societal wellbeing. Our research addresses issues such as workplace health and safety, sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility (CSR), public health and care management, labour markets, and trade unions. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in IC Design and Computer Architecture. Candidates must hold a PhD in this field or a closely related field with a strong research background. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; role of a lecturer, &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; successful candidate will teach graduate courses in MCS and undergraduate courses in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; CSE bachelor program. The expected workload for &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; following modules:

Research Responsibilities

This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; fields of computer-aided design of ICs & systems, verification, simulation, system on chip and AI in IC design. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Engineering or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. The expected workload for?&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic?hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).?

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures?on &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; following modules:?

	Computer Network – 2?
	Distributed Systems?
	IoT and smart devices?
	Real-time systems?
	Fundamental courses in related areas?


The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; programs and joint?agreement between &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean? in charge of teaching. Courses may requires conducting relevant laboratory activities? and/or advising student projects.?

The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s and master’s &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;ses?and mentoring PhD students. ?

Research Responsibilities?

As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; successful candidate is?expected to significantly contribute to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; scientific profile of VGU through innovation.?This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as?applied research in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; fields of distributed systems and high-performance computing.?The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly?desirable.?

Administrative responsibilities?

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; development of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Computer Science Program by participating in administrative, marketing and o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r public activities of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; program in consultation with &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Academic Coordinator of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; study program and &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; German partner university, namely Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; academic self administration of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as will experience and understanding of &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; German higher education system and methodology. O&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r requirements include:


	An outstanding academic record with a focus on computer networks, parallel &?distributed computing, or o&#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944;r areas closely related to it?
	?Proven expertise in edge computing, load balancing, parallelism, virtual?machine technologies and distributed file systems?
	Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in?international and peer-reviewed journals in &#48148;&#52852;&#46972;&#49324;&#51060;&#53944; related area?
	Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion?for teaching and research?
	Experience in industry is an advantage ?
	Proven excellent English proficiency:?

The International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing work collaboratively with national and international partners to improve health care, access to pathology testing, and improve health outcomes.
