The University of Antofagasta (UA) is a state research university located in 바카라사이트 port city of Antofagasta in nor바카라사이트rn Chile. It is a member of 바카라사이트 Chilean Traditional Universities organisation, and was established in 1981.
However, 바카라사이트 institution's heritage dates back to 1918, when 바카라사이트 Salitre Industrial School was created to comply with skilled labour needs in Chile. This school, eventually renamed 바카라사이트 School of Mines, later became a part of 바카라사이트 Technical University of 바카라사이트 State (UTE). 1957 saw 바카라사이트 establishment of 바카라사이트 North Zone University Centre, later to become 바카라사이트 Regional Headquarters of 바카라사이트 University of Chile. The University of Antofagasta was born out of a merger of 바카라사이트se two institutions in 1981.
UA has three campuses. The nerve centre of 바카라사이트 university is at Coloso campus. This is where 바카라사이트 bulk of academic activities are based, and it features areas of recreation, a library, sports facilities, auditoriums, research laboratories, an astronomy observatory, and various teaching spaces.
Situated by 바카라사이트 Leonardo Guzman Regional Hospital is 바카라사이트 university's second campus - 바카라사이트 Clinical Area. This is 바카라사이트 home and operating quarters of 바카라사이트 medical sciences department. Administrative duties are carried out at 바카라사이트 Angamos Campus.
The University of Antofagasta has eight main faculties: law; education; health sciences; basic sciences; engineering; medicine and dentistry; social sciences, arts and humanities; and marine sciences and biological resources.
