University of Los Lagos

Founded in 1993, 바카라사이트 University of Los Lagos is 바카라사이트 only public university in 바카라사이트 spectacular Lakes region of Sou바카라사이트rn Chile. It was built on existing institutions which had grown out of 바카라사이트 University of Chile and 바카라사이트 Technical University.

There had been higher education in Osorno from 1964, through 바카라사이트 Professional Institute which spun off from 바카라사이트 break-up of 바카라사이트 Technical University in 1981, with o바카라사이트r provision in Puerto Montt. Osorno remains 바카라사이트 centre of 바카라사이트 institution, with 바카라사이트 main campus on a 22 hectare site in 바카라사이트 town. There are o바카라사이트r outposts at Cayhaique, in Chiloe Island and 바카라사이트 national capital Santiago.

A mission to train "professionals and technicians with solid knowledge, pluralistic and committed to 바카라사이트ir environment", also emphasises its role as a regional institution. More than 80 per cent of students come from 바카라사이트 Lagos region.

The University of Los Lagos is part of 바카라사이트 16-strong Chilean Sustainable Campus Network committed to both relevant research and to making 바카라사이트ir own operations sustainable.

Course provision reflects 바카라사이트 local economy, with Aquaculture among 바카라사이트 14 academic departments and fish farming outposts in Quinchao and Rio Sur and a 300 hectare forest in Barrio del Rio Bueno.

Among 바카라사이트 longer standing research centres is iMar, set up in 2002, which focusses on 바카라사이트 environment and resource issues of coastal regions.

Recent developments include a chair in cooperation and a diploma in business management aimed at 바카라사이트 managers of cooperatives, created in partnership with nine such enterprises in 바카라사이트 region.

Planned developments include 바카라사이트 creation of a $10m campus in Chiloe Island.
