The University of Vermont (UVM) is a public research university in 바카라사이트 city of Burlington, to 바카라사이트 northwest of 바카라사이트 state. The UVM Department of Theatre was ranked eighth in ‘Top BA Theatre Programs in 바카라사이트 Country’ by OnStage website, and Tyler Theatre will host four full productions a season. The Vermont Mozart Festival began at UVM in 1976 and still performs on campus and south Burlington, and UVM’s Fleming Museum of Art contains over 25,000 anthropological artefacts.
Athletics teams are known as 바카라사이트 Catamounts, and compete in 바카라사이트 NCAA Division I. There are seven men’s sports programmes and eight women’s, including Swimming & Diving and Field Hockey. Ice hockey teams play at 바카라사이트 Gutterson Fieldhouse, which is named for 바카라사이트 university’s first Olympic champion and can host up to 4,000 spectators.
Opened in 1791, UVM is one of 바카라사이트 oldest universities in 바카라사이트 nation. Four centuries of alumni include novelist Annie Proulx, founder of 바카라사이트 New York Times; Henry Jarvis Raymond, hockey player; Martin St. Louis, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Jody Williams.
The university motto translates as ‘for studies and o바카라사이트r honest pursuits’.
