Uttaradit Rajabhat University was originally established in 1936 as 바카라사이트 Uttaradit Teacher Training School. In 1968 it began offering higher education degrees and was renamed Uttaradit Teachers College. In 1992, 바카라사이트 college became 바카라사이트 Rajabhat Institute of Uttaradit and in 2004 it was granted university status by King Bhumidbol Adulyadej under its current name.

The university is organised into six faculties: agriculture, education, industrial technology, humanities and social sciences, management science, and science and technology.Each faculty offers a range of undergraduate degree programmes.
