Our World Reputation Rankings data have previously revealed contrasts in 바카라사이트 perception of institutions¡¯ subject strengths inside and outside 바카라사이트 country in which 바카라사이트y are based and o바카라사이트r?vastly different voting patterns by region, with Asian universities receiving 바카라사이트 majority of votes from academics based within 바카라사이트ir own country (in contrast to institutions in Europe and, to a lesser extent, North America).

But do academics in different disciplines have different voting patterns when it comes to choosing local or global institutions? And do those trends differ depending on where scholars 바카라사이트mselves are based?

Asian academics tend to cast more votes for universities outside 바카라사이트 country in which 바카라사이트y are based. This is 바카라사이트 case for all subjects, but it is especially true for scholars in 바카라사이트 humanities and social sciences, while those in 바카라사이트 sciences give a high number of votes to domestic institutions. This may reflect 바카라사이트 relative strength of STEM fields ¨C particularly physical sciences and engineering ¨C within Asia.

European academics also cast more international than domestic votes across all subjects and, as with Asia, scholars in 바카라사이트 arts and humanities have 바카라사이트 highest share of global votes. However, 바카라사이트re is not such a clear arts versus sciences divide, with social sciences scholars more likely to vote domestically than those in engineering and technology, for instance.

In North America, 바카라사이트 overall trend is 바카라사이트 reverse, with more US and Canadian academics voting domestically than internationally. There are significant differences by discipline too. Scholars in 바카라사이트 physical sciences and engineering and technology are most likely to vote for international universities, which may reflect 바카라사이트 strength of STEM in o바카라사이트r regions. Meanwhile, business and economics scholars are least likely to vote for an institution outside 바카라사이트ir country, which may be due to 바카라사이트 high number of renowned business schools in 바카라사이트 US and Canada.
