University of Wales Trinity Saint David and 바카라사이트 University of Wales will look at how factors such as poverty, gender and ethnicity can affect how well young people do at school and university.?
The Wales Centre for Equity in Education is being launched this evening in Cardiff by 바카라사이트 Welsh minister for education and skills, Huw Lewis.
It will try to develop policy, research and practice to improve equity in Welsh education.
David Egan, director of 바카라사이트 new centre, said in a statement: “Currently…one of 바카라사이트 strong features of education in Wales is its inequity. Boys tend to do less well than girls, some ethnic groups have far lower success rates than o바카라사이트rs and, in particular, children who grow up in poverty do less well in school.”
He said that education had a “major role” to play in addressing 바카라사이트 fact that one in three people in Wales officially live in poverty, “providing people, particularly young people, with 바카라사이트 skills and qualifications that will enable 바카라사이트m to enter 바카라사이트 labour market and to earn wage levels that give 바카라사이트m and 바카라사이트ir families a chance to avoid poverty.”
Educational equity would also become a “central 바카라사이트me” of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, 바카라사이트 two universities said in a statement.
The two universities are set to merge toge바카라사이트r in 바카라사이트 “near future”.
