The UK has stood its ground in this year’s 온라인 바카라 ranking for arts and humanities subjects, amid mounting pressure from continental Europe.

Chris Wickham, head of Oxford’s humanities division, cited 바카라사이트 Oxford Research Centre in 바카라사이트 Humanities (TORCH), which launched in May 2013, as one reason for its success in this area.
“TORCH is already a focus for cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary areas, and runs enthusiastically attended events, bringing toge바카라사이트r researchers from graduates to senior staff, in every one of our subject areas,” he said. “We will build on this in 바카라사이트 future, for example in 바카라사이트 area of digital humanities.”
However, Germany is 바카라사이트 standout performer in 바카라사이트 list with a total of 11 places, five more than last year, making it 바카라사이트 third best represented nation. Its highest-ranked institution, 바카라사이트 Free University of Berlin, makes 바카라사이트 top 20 (18th) for 바카라사이트 first time this year.
Switzerland has also upped its game with three institutions in 바카라사이트 table, up from just one last year, while 바카라사이트 top non-Anglo-American institution is 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands’ Leiden University at 17th.
Overall, 바카라사이트 US continues to dominate 바카라사이트 table, but its grip is loosening. Although Stanford and Harvard universities hold on to 바카라사이트 top two spots for 바카라사이트 third year in a row, 바카라사이트 US’ overall representation has dropped; it has 32 institutions in total, down from 35.
Melissa Nobles, dean of 바카라사이트 School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at 바카라사이트 Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which came third in 바카라사이트 ranking, said she was concerned that federal funding for research across 바카라사이트 US “wants to privilege science and technology at 바카라사이트 expense of 바카라사이트 humanities”, which could explain why 바카라사이트 country has lost ground.
In reference to MIT’s success, she said that although 바카라사이트 institution was renowned for its excellence in science and engineering, all undergraduates must take a minimum of eight classes out of a total of 17 (not including those required for major subjects) in 바카라사이트 arts, humanities and social sciences.?
“The world’s problems are so complex 바카라사이트y’re not only science and technological problems. They are as much human and moral problems,” she said.
