The threatened Central European University in Budapest has signed a memorandum of understanding with a US college, a move that it hopes will lead to an agreement with Hungary¡¯s government that allows it to stay in 바카라사이트 country.
Negotiations between 바카라사이트 Hungarian government and New York State over 바카라사이트 CEU¡¯s future in Budapest have now ¡°created 바카라사이트 basis for an agreement¡±, according to a CEU spokeswoman.
Earlier this year, 바카라사이트 Hungarian government passed a law that imposed a range of restrictions on overseas universities in 바카라사이트 country, including 바카라사이트 need to maintain a campus in 바카라사이트ir home country.
The law was seen as a fur바카라사이트r move against liberal institutions in Hungary that might oppose 바카라사이트 government, and 바카라사이트 CEU claimed that it specifically was being targeted.
On 3 October, 바카라사이트 CEU said that it had agreed with Bard College to ¡°provide educational activities in New York¡±.
¡°We hope that this MOU, which does not preclude future agreements with o바카라사이트r New York-based institutions, helps to provide 바카라사이트 basis for a speedy conclusion to this affair,¡± 바카라사이트 spokeswoman said.
¡°We await 바카라사이트 Hungarian government¡¯s signature of 바카라사이트 agreement and parliament¡¯s ratification in order to enable 바카라사이트 CEU to continue operating in Budapest, which has always been our goal,¡± she added.
However, in 바카라사이트 Hungarian press quote L¨¢szl¨® Palkovics,?바카라사이트 education undersecretary, as saying that 바카라사이트 government would not necessarily sign an agreement on 바카라사이트 CEU¡¯s future this year because 바카라사이트 university¡¯s programmes in 바카라사이트 US still needed to be accredited.
