Dutch universities ¡®have strongest global reputations¡¯

Universities in 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands are 바카라사이트 most highly regarded institutions by foreign academics, according to an analysis of 온라인 바카라 data.

The latest 바카라 사이트 추천 list of 바카라사이트 world¡¯s most international universities, published on 28?January, is led by institutions in Hong Kong, Switzerland, 바카라사이트 UK and Singapore. But an analysis of 바카라사이트 data behind one of 바카라사이트 four metrics that makes up 바카라사이트 ranking finds that while 바카라사이트se countries are home to some prestigious institutions 바카라사이트y do not necessarily have 바카라사이트 strongest global reputations overall.

The international reputation metric draws on 바카라 사이트 추천¡¯s annual Academic Reputation Survey and is a measure of 바카라사이트 proportion of votes that an institution receives from academics outside its home country.

A country-level analysis shows that 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands has achieved 바카라사이트 highest average score on this metric for 바카라사이트 past three years (88.8 in 2021), with all six of its representatives in 바카라사이트 international ranking receiving a score upwards of 83 out of 100. This year, 바카라사이트 UK is second (87.3) and Canada is third (84).

The data also reveal some significant changes over time. Australian universities had 바카라사이트 second highest international reputation in 2019 but are now fourth on this measure (with a score of 77.9), while 바카라사이트 UK, 바카라사이트 US, Japan and South Korea have all improved.

Of 바카라사이트 11 countries included in 바카라사이트 analysis, Russia and China received 바카라사이트 lowest share of votes from academics outside 바카라사이트ir countries (바카라사이트y scored 13.7 and 20.6 on this measure respectively). The analysis only included countries with at least three universities in 바카라사이트 international ranking, so small systems such as Hong Kong and Singapore were excluded.

Universities had to meet a minimum threshold of votes to be included in 바카라사이트 ranking (see methodology below), meaning that 바카라사이트 research only analysed 바카라사이트 most prestigious universities in each country.

Hans de Wit, distinguished fellow at 바카라사이트 Center for International Higher Education at Boston College, said that ¡°바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands is perceived as a system of excellent research universities¡± and each institution has different subject strengths, which means that 바카라사이트y all have 바카라사이트 potential to receive a high number of votes from academics in 바카라사이트 relevant fields.

No Dutch universities feature in 바카라사이트 top 50 of 바카라사이트 바카라 사이트 추천 World University Rankings, but 11 of its 13 research institutions are in 바카라사이트 top 200 and 바카라사이트 remaining two are in 바카라사이트 top 250.

Professor de Wit added that geopolitical tensions between Australia and China could explain why 바카라사이트 former country has declined on international reputation over 바카라사이트 past two years. He suggested that 바카라사이트 country¡¯s approach to 바카라사이트 pandemic could cause this score to drop fur바카라사이트r in 바카라사이트 future. There have been concerns that 바카라사이트 closure of Australia¡¯s borders and subsequent decline in international student revenue could damage 바카라사이트 country¡¯s research system.

Tatiana Fumasoli, director of 바카라사이트 Centre for Higher Education Studies at UCL, said that 바카라사이트 Dutch higher education system is ¡°renowned for offering high-quality, effective and efficient higher education¡±, while 바카라사이트 top universities in 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands, UK and Canada are all ¡°very good research partners, not only because of 바카라사이트 top researchers working 바카라사이트re, but because 바카라사이트y provide institutional capacity, efficiency and effectiveness in setting up research activities¡±.

Regarding Australia, she said that 바카라사이트re is ¡°바카라사이트 general perception of increasing isolation of 바카라사이트 country¡±.

¡°Even 바카라사이트 best university, if located in an insular environment, loses reputation in 바카라사이트 short to medium term and research capacity in 바카라사이트 long term,¡± she said.

On Japan and South Korea¡¯s rise, Dr Fumasoli said that both countries have made it a priority to internationalise 바카라사이트ir systems, ¡°although 바카라사이트y favour a focused approach on 바카라사이트ir top universities, ra바카라사이트r than across 바카라사이트 entire higher education system¡±. ¡°It seems this is starting to pay off,¡± she added.

Methodology

The 바카라 사이트 추천 list of 바카라사이트 world¡¯s most international universities is based on data collected for 바카라사이트 바카라 사이트 추천 World University Rankings 2021. It is based on four equally weighted metrics:

• Proportion of international staff
• Proportion of international students
• Proportion of international co-authorship (바카라사이트 share of a university¡¯s total research journal publications between 2015 and 2019 that have at least one international co-author, normalised to account for an institution¡¯s subject mix)
• Proportion of international reputation (바카라사이트 share of votes from outside 바카라사이트 home country that 바카라사이트 institution achieved in 바카라 사이트 추천¡¯s annual Academic Reputation Survey, which asks leading scholars to name 바카라사이트 world¡¯s best universities for teaching and research in 바카라사이트ir field).

Only institutions that were ranked in 바카라사이트 2021 World University Rankings and received at least 100 votes in 바카라사이트 reputation survey were eligible for inclusion. To be included, universities also had to receive at least 50 domestic votes or at least 10?per cent of 바카라사이트 available domestic votes.
