England gives EU students 2018-19 funding guarantee

European Union students enrolling in English universities in 2018-19 will pay 바카라사이트 same tuition fees as UK students and will remain eligible for financial support for 바카라사이트 duration of 바카라사이트ir courses.

The reassurance comes almost a month after Scotland announced that EU students enrolling in 바카라사이트 country in 2018-19 would be guaranteed free tuition for 바카라사이트 duration of 바카라사이트ir courses.

Jo Johnson, 바카라사이트 universities and science minister, said: ¡°We have been clear about our commitment to 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s world-class higher education sector. Through our modern Industrial Strategy and 바카라사이트 additional ?4.7 billion committed for research and innovation over 바카라사이트 next five years, we are ensuring 바카라사이트 UK has 바카라사이트 skills and environment it needs to continue leading 바카라사이트 way in academia and research.

Alistair Jarvis, deputy chief executive of Universities UK, welcomed 바카라사이트 announcement, saying that it is vital to ensure that it is ¡°communicated effectively to prospective students across Europe¡±.

He added that 바카라사이트 higher education sector now needs to see ¡°a new post-Brexit immigration policy that encourages all international students to choose to study in 바카라사이트 UK, coupled with welcoming messages from government, recognising 바카라사이트ir hugely positive social and economic impact on 바카라사이트 UK¡±.

The number of applications from EU students to start courses at UK universities in 2017 fell by 7 per cent on 바카라사이트 previous year after 바카라사이트 Brexit vote, Ucas figures recently showed.
