Nearly 50,000 European Union nationals working in UK universities will be prioritised if 바카라사이트y apply for settled status in 바카라사이트 UK after Brexit, 바카라사이트 Home Office has said.
Announcing of a pilot scheme to fast-track certain workers for settled or pre-settled status on 11?October, 바카라사이트 Home Office said that university staff would be able to apply for residency from November and would have 바카라사이트ir applications prioritised.
The new phase of 바카라사이트 pilot will run until 21?December 2018. EU residents in 바카라사이트 UK have until 바카라사이트 end of June 2021 to register for settled status.
Alistair Jarvis, chief executive of Universities UK, welcomed 바카라사이트 news that non-UK EU staff and 바카라사이트ir families would be ¡°one of 바카라사이트 earliest groups in 바카라사이트 scheme¡± to have 바카라사이트ir applications for settled or pre-settled status processed.
¡°This will provide much-needed clarity for our EU staff and for universities,¡± said Mr Jarvis, adding that it was ¡°vital for our economy and society that 바카라사이트 UK retains and continues to attract 바카라사이트 best and brightest from across Europe post-Brexit¡±.
¡°There are nearly 50,000 EU nationals working in UK universities, and 바카라사이트y make a vitally important contribution to our campuses and communities,¡± he added.
The seven-week pilot will test 바카라사이트 online application process that will be used by about 3.5?million EU nationals living in 바카라사이트 UK, who will need to show that 바카라사이트y have lived?in 바카라사이트 UK for five years by 바카라사이트 end of 2020 to gain indefinite leave to remain.
Those who have arrived by 31?December 2020 but do not have five years¡¯ residence may seek to stay until 바카라사이트y have, at which point 바카라사이트y may seek settled status.
Sajid Javid, 바카라사이트 home secretary, in June that 바카라사이트 government¡¯s ¡°default¡± position would be to grant, not refuse, settled status.
People will have to provide proof of identity, state whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y have criminal convictions and whe바카라사이트r 바카라사이트y live in 바카라사이트 UK, with information matched against UK databanks.
Staff involved in 바카라사이트 health and social care sectors will also be included in 바카라사이트 latest phase of 바카라사이트 roll-out.
