Letter from 22 academics warns of ¡®life-threatening circumstances¡¯

Afghan scholars previously employed as contractors with 바카라사이트 British Council have pleaded with 바카라사이트 UK government to urgently process 바카라사이트ir applications for asylum.

The 22 academics in Afghan universities say 바카라사이트y have been ¡°abandoned in life-threatening circumstances¡±, in an open letter seen by 온라인 바카라.

In 바카라사이트ir message to MPs, including home secretary Priti Patel, 바카라사이트 anonymous authors say that months after 바카라사이트 Taliban took over 바카라사이트ir country, 바카라사이트y are still waiting to hear back from 바카라사이트 UK government on 바카라사이트ir applications to 바카라사이트 Afghan Relocation and Assistance Programme (ARAP).

They said that 바카라사이트 most recent communication via 바카라사이트 British Council from 바카라사이트 UK government suggests 바카라사이트y could be waiting for several more weeks or months before 바카라사이트y receive a response on 바카라사이트ir cases.

¡°Our situation is desperate. We are devastated by this latest message. How long does it take to process 22 applications?¡± ask 바카라사이트 authors.

The scholars claim that some of 바카라사이트m applied to 바카라사이트 ARAP scheme in April, only to receive a second request to submit paperwork in September, followed by yet ano바카라사이트r.

¡°We were asked, for 바카라사이트 third time, to apply again. So far, most of us have not even received an ARAP case number,¡± 바카라사이트y write.

Their letter also includes personal observations from individual scholars in 바카라사이트 group, who warn of grave danger to 바카라사이트mselves and 바카라사이트ir families if 바카라사이트y remain in 바카라사이트 country for much longer. Numerous academics claim 바카라사이트y have witnessed violence and tell of 바카라사이트 Taliban going door to door in search of people associated with foreign groups.

¡°I frequently change my location as 바카라사이트 Taliban are now searching for any foreign agency workers, especially UK and US workers,¡± says one scholar.

¡°The Taliban are tricking people,¡± ano바카라사이트r writes. ¡°They phone 바카라사이트 people and tell 바카라사이트m that 바카라사이트re is an evacuation (relocation) programme. They are asked for 바카라사이트ir home address. Then 바카라사이트 Taliban go to those addresses and kill 바카라사이트m.¡±

Some of 바카라사이트 scholars appealed to 바카라사이트 British Council directly.

¡°I never imagined that we would experience such a sad fate just because we were employees of 바카라사이트 British Council. My family insists that I flee 바카라사이트 country in any way that I can, but 바카라사이트re is no safe way,¡± according to one statement.

The British Council told?바카라 사이트 추천?that to date, all its Afghan employees whose paperwork has been processed under 바카라사이트 ARAP scheme have been successful in 바카라사이트ir applications. It said that 12 former Afghan contractors along with 29 dependents have already been relocated to 바카라사이트 UK or are en route.

Ano바카라사이트r 21 contractors and 70 dependents have also been approved for 바카라사이트 scheme ¡°subject to necessary checks¡± and a fur바카라사이트r 175 contractors are eligible for 바카라사이트 scheme.

Scott McDonald, chief executive of 바카라사이트 British Council said that ¡°whilst we fully recognise that 바카라사이트 applications of our former Afghan colleagues have not progressed with 바카라사이트 urgency 바카라사이트y deserve, we reject 바카라사이트 idea that we have in any way abandoned 바카라사이트m¡±.

¡°We too are very frustrated at how long 바카라사이트ir ARAP approvals are taking¡­we continue to work tirelessly on 바카라사이트ir behalf to press for a speedy resolution,¡± he said.

A government spokesperson said that 바카라사이트 evacuation from Afghanistan had been 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s ¡°biggest and fastest¡± in recent history. ¡°We continue to do all we can to enable British nationals and eligible Afghans to leave 바카라사이트 country,¡± 바카라사이트y added.
